If this is underway, it is certainly something that should be of concern to all who are interested in community gardens.  It is particularly problematic that the city might move in this direction of cutting off water to people who are growing food at the same time that it is promoting itself as a water hub and trying to get approval to reduce water rates to certain corporations.

    Hi folks,

    (Apologies for cross-posting.)

We are now in line to get hydrant access at the Hide House Community Garden.
While that's good, I want to find where it is written that, save for a small
fleet of "grandfathered" community gardens, rental (public access) of City
of Milwaukee fire hydrants will end after 2010. I heard the Acting Fire
Chief say as much at a public hearing. The following questions are related
    to that:

    - Who made this decision, and why?
    - Will the Hide House Garden be grandfathered in?
    - What can be done to keep hydrant access available for future community
    gardens?

    Thanks much,
    Jason.
