Old Christmas trees and wreath behind Sven's Cafe available for compost/other use

Hi folks,
(Apologies for cross-posting and duplicate traffic.)
Sven's Cafe at KK & Russell Ave. in Bay View has four old Christmas trees and one old wreath sitting behind the cafe. The owner has told me that if anyone, e.g. a landscaper or an enterprising composter wishes to use them, they're free for the taking.
He made no claim about their origins, e.g. chemicals used in growing them. I certainly don't have any info about that either. But they're free for the taking. I think you can swing by and grab them if you wish; just inform the barista(s) inside of what you're doing and all should be well.

They're usually sprayed with a fire-retardant chemical.. I usually put mine into the firepit in the summer but they have a hard time catching. I don't think I'd add them to compost intended for food crops.
