Hello GMVers,

This is a quick reminder about tomorrow night’s Council Environmental Sustainability Committee (CESC) meeting.

·         Time: 6:30pm

·         Location: Atrium conference room (first floor) in City Hall, by the back elevator. (500 Castro St.)

We will be discussing:

·         The City’s community-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory

·         Staff’s proposed long-term, community-wide GHG reduction targets

·         Bay friendly landscaping

The agenda and staff report is available on the City’s sustainability web site:

http://www.ci.mtnview.ca.us/services/learn_about_our_city/environmental_sustainability_program.asp

Heads Up!

Assuming no major changes by the CESC, we will be bringing these proposed GHG reduction targets to the full council on 10/27/09.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 6:30pm!

Steve

Hello GMVers,

I wanted to update you on a few upcoming sustainability-related City meetings.

  1. We will be bringing our community-wide GHG reduction targets to the full council on 11/3, not on 10/27 as previously indicated. Check out the City sustainability web site starting COB on 10/29 for the revised staff report.
  2. The next Council Environmental Sustainability Committee (CESC) meeting will take place on 11/10, at 6:30pm in the Plaza conference room, 2nd floor of City Hall. The agenda will include (1) our Government Operations GHG emissions reduction targets, and (2) an update on single-use plastic bag issues.
  3. Assuming no major changes by the CESC, we will be bringing the proposed Government Operations GHG reduction targets to the full council on 12/8.

I look forward to seeing you on 11/3 if you can attend the Council meeting and provide any public comments on the community-wide targets.

Have a great weekend!!

Steve
