The City has launched the public consultation process for the 2013 update to the Transportation Master Plan.     There are 2 parts to the TMP update. The first elaborates on the policies that are to guide the decisions over the next 5 years and the second provides the planned projects for how the road, transit, and cycling network are to be evolved and invested in up to the year 2031.

One of the easiest way to provide individual feedback is via the City's on-line-OP-update-survey which is open until Mar 1, 2013.  There are specific questions re. transportation as part of this survey

TMP Update process Part 1 - Policy Development

The 2013 update is "not a complete re-write" but an update with a special focus on several transportation policy topics identified for further development.  These are listed as:

The CCC will be participating and providing comments both on these proposals as well as providing other unsolicited ideas regarding transportation topics in Ottawa.  The following link provides the current CCC draft TMP comments, which are open for feedback  on this list and are planned to be submitted to the City in March 2013.

Feel free to write to the list with ideas for improvements to these proposed CCC comments.

Part 2 - Road and Transit Network 'Refresh'

In addition to the policy directives listed above the Plan will 'refresh' the view out to 2031 of the road and transit network that the City will invest in .

According to the timeframes that have been published, initial communication of the road and transit network expansions that are envisaged will be made available by spring 2013.

A signficant source of input into this step is the results of the 2011_O-D_Survey available at this link:
