CITRT folks

At CCCW we are having what we have termed "LAN brown outs". The main
indicator it is happening is that everything goes slow and the worst
impact is our VOIP phones lose contact with the PBX.

We do not believe it is a virus (but have not ruled it out), but we
suspect something is creating traffic or clagging the network somehow.

Has anyone out there had success with any tools?

Are there any checks / thoughts / ideas to help us narrow the source?

Thanks in advance,

Chris.

We had EXACTLY the same problem at Crossway.
I got so stumped by it that I called in our support supplier. What
they did in the first instance was log into our switch an look at the
traffic stats (well, duh. Why didn't I think of that?) and identified
that traffic on one port was going balistic. The item plugged into
that port turned out to be another switch (different brand) in our
media studio. Since it wasn't in production yet, we just unplugged it
and everything came good.

Thanks Neil

Will see if we can do that on our switches. This is all a journey of
discovery as it has definitely fallen outside of our expertise on staff.

Cheers,Chris.
