I am having a hard time understanding how our City is being operated
Council and Employees say we do not have enough revenue to operate so
Taxes are increased
Franchise Fees are added to keep afloat. Yet plans are made to
construct a community center, storage building ,city hall building
plans that makes shake my head in awe.
How about a new patrol car ,side walk snow clearing tractor and a new
dump truck ex-large with plow and lets not get into the Liquor store
problems.
I am politically involved passing out literature I counted 8 houses
with lock boxes on the doors no for sale signs, people still residing
in them awaiting foreclosure
If what I was told is accurate. Then the vacant homes for sale or
just vacant, did two of SLP's group homes stop operating one on
Jackson St. looked like it was for sale.
Oh,Oh did I forget to mention ipads for council watcha think ?How soon
are they reported stolen and found in the local pawn shops?

Ken:

Couldn't agree more.  We have to set priorities in the City and cannot spend for everything.

Recently, the Council was mulling over an expenditure that involved cutting down our portion of what the homeowner said were diseased trees,   although they were not determined to be. The City was wondering where they would get the money.  If indeed, we had a storm and many of the trees owned by the city were downed how would we pay for it?  We need to set priorities on the current spending and decide what is actually important!
Most of the City revenue comes from the taxpayers. The City leaders must be good stewards of the peoples funds.
