Dear cricket enthusiasts,

I hope we had great fun in last One weekend tournament which happened 2 weeks back, now it is time for league tournament !! :)

I am glad to announce that Citizens cricket club and Tallahassee Cricketers is going to conduct its first ever Tape-ball Cricket League Tournament starting from June first weekend (June 7th-Tentatively), depends on how many teams participate we will know how many weekends it's gonna be. Minimum 6-8 teams are expected to participate making it a very special occasion for us and of course for the various winners with a variety of prizes to be given out. Each team should have minimum of 9 players and the maximum of 15 players. Water and Gatorade will be provided for all matches. 

All matches will be played with taped tennis balls on base ball fields. All league and semis matches are for 16 overs per innings and final match is for 18 Overs per innings.

For all the league and semis matches, there will be a four over power play where first two overs are mandatory and then one for batting power play and other for bowling power play. For batting and bowling power play, 3 players can stay outside the circle. During normal overs 2 fielders need to be inside the inner circle excluding bowler and wicket keeper. Umpire can give a no ball if 2 fielders are not inside the inner circle.

For Final match there will be five over power play where first two overs are mandatory and then two for batting power play and other one for bowling power play. For batting and bowling power play, 3 players can stay outside the circle.

The total number of players in a team for the tournament should be 15, of which only 9 can play on the field every match.

I request you all to confirm your participation with team name by May 16th so that all required arrangements can be made. Shortly we will come up with rules, tournament fee, prize money and schedule (depends on how many teams participating).

For all our( Teams as well as organizers) convenience all league matches are planned for Saturday morning 8 to 11 AM and no games in the afternoon and no games on Sunday's, so we all can have a good quality time with family.

For any reason (Rain etc) the game is not happened as per the schedule, please be prepared to play those games on Sunday's. Also if both team captains agrees you can play on weekdays (6:30 - 8:30 PM) evening too.

I hope everyone is doing good and good with their team schedule :)

The Tallahassee Tape ball Cricket League - Spring 2014, is all set to roll as planned on June 7th 2014- Saturday (this weekend). This weekend we have total 2 matches in which 4 teams involving i.e. A1 Vs A2 and A3 Vs A4.

Team rosters can edit up to June 6th 2014, before tournament begins we restrict the access to edit the spreadsheet. So please fill in your team rosters or if you need update.

I will update you all the team standings and points on every week of Monday.

We provide Water and Gatorade for every match. Tournament fee is not yet decided, let you all know shortly.

Hi All,

 

Important update on Grounds and Tournament Fee:

We have faced unexpected situation in Jackson bluff grounds when we went to practice yesterday evening, for some reason in those fields they kept a temporary fence so it seems we can't play proper cricket in those grounds at least for few weekends. So we decided to conduct our league tournament in Tom browns as of now. As we follow Inner circle, boundary measurements same for any fields so it wouldn't be a problem if we switch grounds from Jackson bluff to Tom Browns or Vice versa.

Mostly all of our games are at morning 8 to 11 AM on Saturdays or Sundays so hopefully all grounds will be available in tom browns to finish our leagues.

In worst case scenario we can play at Jackson bluff by removing those temporary fences in the fields, once our match finish we need to put them back as it was :)

Tournament fee is 80$ (Total 21 leagues, 3 semis and 1 finals = 25 matches), this time additional to the existing trophies we are planning to include best umpire, best sportsmanship team awards.

Key points of our league:

All league and semis matches are for 16 overs per innings and final match is for 18 Overs per innings.

Final wicket single batting allowed.

Bowlers are allowed to bowl a maximum of 4 overs in a league game of 16 overs and 2 persons allowed to bowl 5 overs in a game of 18 overs final match.

Both umpires may or may not consult each other during a decision. The final decision lies with the main umpire and always main umpire can overrule the leg umpire upon Consulting with Leg Umpire.

If the ball is not visible, only the batsmen have the right to ask the umpire for a change of ball and the bowling team cannot object to change of ball.

If the ball hits the umpire, the ball is still live, i.e. runs can be scored and all kinds of wicket–taking will still apply.

Can use any kind of bats.

In case of any discrepancy the organizing members’ decision is final and shall not be contested.

- Captains will be solely responsible for the conduct of the players. Players are not allowed to run on to the fields. In case of dispute only the team captain shall voice his concern.

- Umpires’ decision on the field shall remain FINAL. (There shall be no arguments regarding the decision).

- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the ground.

- Personal abuse against the umpires or players will not be accepted.

THE ORGANIZERS WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE TEAMS RESPECT THE RULES AND PARTICIPATE IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP.

Note: 

All Man of the match trophies and other trophies will be given at the time of finals only. So whoever putting score in score sheets please maintain accurate and give it to organizers at the end of the every match.

I request all of the team captains to share/forward your schedule, rules and this email to all of your team members.

Hi All,

Thanks for your co-operation on inaugural weekend of our league tournament. 

Here is the first weekend( June 7th 2014) update.

A1 (Ravens) Vs A2 (Seminoles) :: Seminoles won the toss and elected to field first. Ravens batted first and scored 94/8 wickets in 16 overs, Seminoles started chasing but fell short by 6 runs. Ravens won by 6 runs, Krishna Tiwari from Ravens team is the MOM for his 26 runs and a crucial wicket.

A3 (Deloitte) Vs A4 (Buck Lakers) :: Deloitte won the toss and elected batting first. Deloitte scored 119 runs in 16 overs, Buck lakers started chasing but fell short by 32 runs. Deloitte won by 32 runs, Nikhil from Deloitte team is the MOM for his 47 runs and 2 wickets.

Firehawks vs Seminoles : Seminoles won by 3 wickets. Mandhar is MOM for his 5 wickets from Seminoles.

Bucklakers vs Tallahassee Cricketers : Bucklakers won by 22 runs. Giri is MOM for his 13 runs and 3 wickets from Bucklakers.

In next email i will update the points table with NRR.

Captains please choose the players of your team from only the names you provided in the roster, if you can't find 9 players(from the list you provided in roster) on the game day you got to play with only available players you have. Why i'm mentioning this is last weekend Seminoles bought a guy who is not in the roster and made him play, they even didn't mention prior to match until we pointed out him. Later we allowed him to play but we paid for our mistakes that's different story( We shouldn't allow as per the rules, at the same time thought we don't want to be so hard ). We are not allowing these kind of favors to any team from next time, it's captains responsibility to check opposite team players whether playing 9 from roster or not.

Sorry we don't send all those details separately If you have any doubts please check the score sheets and get back to us if you see any issues, that's the idea of sharing score sheets for every weekend matches.

From next time i send score sheets, Points table and NRR to CAPTAINS only, once you verify and everything looks good then you guys can share with your respective teams.

Hi All,

We almost close to end of our tournament league matches with this weekend except one game i.e between Deloitte vs Seminoles ,semis and finals, we are planning to finish league match between(Deloitte vs Seminoles) by next Saturday i.e Aug 16th  and if possible Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on Sunday Aug 17th and remaining Qualifier 2, Grand finals following weekend. I will keep you posted the schedule.

Qualifier 2 : Winner Eliminator (Seminoles) vs Qualifier 1 Looser (TBD) - Mostly in the evening around 4 PM or If Qualifier 1 Looser want to play early we are ok with that and Seminoles need to be flexible to play.

Sunday:

Grand Finals @ 8:30 AM and followed by trophies presentation (Winner, Runner, Third place, Man of the matches for all leagues to finals, Man of the series, Bowler of the tournament, Batsman of the tournament and medals for winner and runners.).

If any one is interested in doing umpiring for tomorrow(Saturday) matches please do come by 8 AM.

Dear cricket enthusiasts,

Tallahassee Cricket Association(TCA) organizes cricket tournament for the cricket lovers every year to promote “cricket” in Tallahassee since 2012. For this year as well, the TCA organized a magnificent League tournament in which 7 teams participated with great zeal.

It is with immense pleasure that I would like to inform you that the 'Tallahassee Premier League - 2014', organized by Citizens Firehawks and Tallahassee Cricketers together 'Tallahassee Cricket association' was a great success and on behalf of Tallahassee Cricket association and the organizing committee of 'Tallahassee Premier League - 2014', I would like to thank all the teams for your interest and participation in the tournament.

To update you on the tournament, Seminoles won the 'Tallahassee Premier League - 2014' beating Tallahassee Cricketers in the finals. After having won the toss, Seminoles opted batting first and scored 96 runs in allotted 16 overs. Tallahassee Cricketers fall short in high scoring thriller. Bhaskar from Seminoles was awarded the man-of-the-match trophy for his terrific batting performance.

Congratulations to all top 3 teams (in this tournament)!!

The best batsman of the tournament trophy was awarded to Amit from Seminoles for 156 runs at an average of 18, while the best bowler of the tournament went to Shiva from Seminoles Team for his 16 wickets at an incredible average of 4.2. Congrats to both the players for their achievements.

Man of the series trophy awarded to Nikhil from Deloitte for his terrific performance in the overall tournament (209 runs and 12 Wickets), big congrats!!

Of course, our entertaining tournament would not be possible without the kind support of the sponsors: Kyra Infotech, Workflow Technologies Inc and Mayuri Indian Restaurant. On behalf of all our teams i would like to appreciate you very much, this help mean lot to us. This great support encourages new people to conduct good tournaments (Cricket, Volleyball etc) in our town.
