Hi All,

I know few teams requested to postpone this for one weekend, due to some conflicts we are unable to postpone this tournament. We apologize for the in convenience.

We decided to conduct one weekend tournament i.e. April 26th and 27th. Shortly we will come up with rules, tournament fee, prize money and schedule (depends on how many teams participating).

Already 4 teams have confirmed their participation. Still waiting on other teams to confirm and then we can certainly start the process.

I'm glad to announce that Citizens Cricket Club (CCC) and CCCC together invites you all to participate in one of the biggest cricket tournaments in the Tallahassee 'Tallahassee Tape Ball Cricket- Spring Cup 2014' on April 26th weekend(tentatively). The tournament this year will be bigger and more entertaining. All matches will be played with taped tennis balls on base ball fields.

 

I request you all to confirm your participation by April 10th so that all required arrangements can be made. If we get response from all the captains by this April 10th, we can take decision quickly and start the tournament as soon as possible. Shortly we will come up with rules, tournament fee, prize money and schedule (depends on how many teams participating).

 

This time we are planning to approach for sponsors will let you all know how it goes once we got update.

 

Note: Based on the total team’s participation we will decide which format to conduct either one weekend tournament or league tournament.

Eight teams have been equally divided in to two pools.

Please find attached rules document and below is the tournament Schedule. Tournament schedule also available in the team roster spreadsheet.

Tournament registration fee is not yet finalized, will let you know in our next email.

• I request all the captains to coordinate with your players and help us in making our tournament go with the schedule and please share the schedule and rules with your team.
  
•  Individual man of the match awards, man of the series, participation trophies, winners and runners up trophies to be given away.
  
• Matches to be spread over 2 fields.
  
• Gatorade, water and bananas to be provided for all matches.
  

Note: I request all teams to co-operate/flexible when there will be a delay in matches due to any reasons(Rain, Grounds non availability etc).

Please fill in the team roster as soon as possible, because we will be locking the final list of teams and respective players very soon.

Hi All,

Thanks all for filling in the rosters. I hope everyone looked at their schedule and rules document, If not please go through it and let me know if you have any concerns.

The Tallahassee Cricket Cup - Spring 2014, is all set to roll as planned on April 26th and 27th weekend.

Tournament registration fee is 80$ per team. Which include Individual man of the match awards, man of the series,Best bowler of the tournament, Best batsman of the tournament, participation trophies, winners and runners up trophies, balls, tapes, cones, water, Gatorade and bananas.

Registration fee either check or cash please give it to me or Anjan before or at the time of tournament begins.

Regarding Ground: 

We have 3 options 1) Tom Browns Grounds 2) 2825 Jackson Bluff Road Grounds 3) J Lewis Hall Sr (Woodville) Park grounds

@ Tom browns grounds availability is too narrow, i guess best options are 2 and 3 grounds. We will check and let you all know 1 day before in which grounds we are going to play.

In the last two tournaments, the fees was $60 when Ravens organized without any sponsors. Now, we have 3 sponsors still there is an increase of $20 tournament fees.

 

Ravens also provided Individual man of the match awards, man of the series,Best bowler of the tournament, Best batsman of the tournament, winners and runners up trophies, balls, tapes, cones and water (with the Exception Participation Trophies, Gatorade and Bananas)

 

Please let us know the Breakdown if possible.

I'm expecting this email from only you !

We are not here to earn money by conducting tournaments, why i'm saying this is the way you questioned is not proper and sounds like we are profiting by this tournament. If you ask for just breakdown that would be so nice, instead of bringing comparison. Last time organizers(Ravens) they didn't even provide water and trophies are little less expensive than we ordered now and our first tournament trophies (No offense Ravens).

Here sponsors are not to provide everything, out of passion towards cricket they are sponsoring little expenses and we appreciate that help and that little help means lot to us. Thanks to Workflow Technologies and Persis Indian Grill.

Answer to your question:

Unfortunately we are not getting much from the sponsors as we expected, there is only two sponsors of which one sponsor is promised to provide few water, Gatorade and 'N' cups and other sponsor 100-150$.

7*80 = 560$ +1*50 = 50$ (Seminole -student team). Total 610$ from teams and Worth of 250-300$ from sponsors.

Total all together we have 610+300=910$

And rough estimation is 1000$. Still we are lag of 80$ after what we are getting from teams and sponsors.

Expected estimation Breakdown as below.

FYI: When we conducted first tournament in Nov 2012, we had to pay around 80$ from our pocket and didn't even try collect from the teams. I'm not complaining this, just i want you to understand that if someone is ready to conduct a tournament they are ready to spend the money from their pocket too if necessary because of the passion towards the games/cricket.

I did not expect this kind of unprofessional reply from you. How can you be so judgemental about me? As a Participating team & member if we are paying any fees than we have every right to express our concerns and its your responsiiblity to respond in a professional way. In the previous tournaments we had concerns from the particiapting teams which were answered in a very polite and professional manner by the organizers.

Hi All,

We decided to play in Tom Brown grounds, also we would like to request you to be flexible(prepare to play ahead schedule, move to other grounds etc) if grounds not available for any reason. We tried to reserve grounds but we didn't find any grounds due to baseball peak season.

Today is the last date to update your rosters, i'm going to restrict the access to update from trow morning. So i request you to update if any changes needed.

Also you can see the schedule in the spreadsheet, that is final.

I request all the captains to coordinate with your players and help us in making our tournament go with the schedule.

Umpires will decide the man of the matches for leagues and Semis. Organizers will decide man of the matches for finals, man of the series, Best batsman of the tournament and Best bowler of the tournament.

THE ORGANIZERS WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE TEAMS RESPECT THE RULES AND PARTICIPATE IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF SPORTSMANSHIP.

Updated rules document and key points is below for your convenience, also attached to this email.

1) All Leagues and Semis games are for 12 overs per Innings finals matches are for 14 overs per innings.

2) There will be a two over power play for all the League and Semis matches for which two fielders can stay outside the circle. Finals, there will be a Four over Power play where first two overs are mandatory and then one for batting Power play and other for bowling power play. For batting and bowling power play, 3 players can stay outside the circle. During normal overs 3 fielders need to be inside the inner circle excluding bowler and wicket keeper. Umpire can give a no ball if 3 fielders are not inside the inner circle.

3) The total number of players in a team for the tournament should be 13, of which only 8 can play on the field every match. 

4) Final wicket single batting allowed.

5) Bowlers are allowed to bowl a maximum of 3 overs in a game of 12 overs and 2 persons allowed to bowl 4 overs in a game of 14 overs.

6) Both umpires may or may not consult each other during a decision. The final decision lies with the main umpire and always main umpire can overrule the leg umpire upon Consulting with Leg Umpire. 

7) If the ball is not visible, only the batsmen have the right to ask the umpire for a change of ball and the bowling team cannot object to change of ball.

8) If the ball hits the umpire, the ball is still live, i.e. runs can be scored and all kinds of wicket–taking will still apply.

9) Can use any kind of bats.

10) In case of any discrepancy the organizing members’ decision is final and shall not be contested.”

- Captains will be solely responsible for the conduct of the players. Players are not allowed to run on to the fields. In case of dispute only the team captain shall voice his concern. 

- Umpires’ decision on the field shall remain FINAL. (There shall be no arguments regarding the decision).

- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on the ground. 

- Personal abuse against the umpires or players will not be accepted.

Dear cricket enthusiasts,

It is with immense pleasure that I would like to inform you that the 'Tallahassee Cricket Cup - Spring 2014', organized by Citizens Firehawks and Tallahassee Cricketers together 'Tallahassee Cricket association' was a great success and on behalf of Tallahassee Cricket association and the organizing committee of 'Tallahassee Cricket Cup - Spring 2014', I would like to thank all the teams for your interest and participation in the tournament.

To update you on the tournament, Tallahassee Cricketers won the 'Tallahassee Cricket Cup - Spring 2014' beating Ravens in the finals. After having won the toss, Tallahassee Cricketers opted bowling first and restricted Ravens to score only 46 runs in the allotted 12 overs. Tallahassee Cricketers started off well chasing a target of 46 runs and finished in just 6.4 overs, Gopi finished it in style with massive Six. Vamsi Mullangi was awarded the man-of-the-match trophy for his terrific bowling performance.

En route to the finals, both the teams managed to pull off a victory out of very closely fought matches in the semifinals. Ravens defeated Citizens Firehawks restricting to do 82 runs in 12 overs and Tallahassee Cricketers defeated the Smashers team in the other semi-final encounter.

The best batsman of the tournament trophy was awarded to Santosh Gunturu (Tallahassee Cricketers) for 89 runs at an average of 15, while the best bowler of the tournament went to Rupesh of Ravens Team for his 13 wickets at an incredible average of 4.1. Congrats to both the players for their achievements.

Man of the series trophy awarded to Vijay S of Tallahassee Tigers for his terrific performance in the overall tournament, congrats!!

Of course, our entertaining tournament would not be possible without the kind support of the sponsors: Persis Indian Grill, Workflow Technologies Inc and ArnAmy Inc. On behalf of all our teams i would like to appreciate you very much, this help mean lot to us.

Primarily the Sports are meant for entertainment and then team spirit. You excelled both and proven that we are a great team together.
