Volley Ball Tournament - Citizens Cup, Spring 2014 (on March 22nd weekend)

Hi All,

We had a great tournament in the last year, again we are planning to organize Volley Ball Tournament - Citizens Cup, Spring 2014 (on March 22nd weekend) before that we would like to know how many teams would like to participate in the Tournament so that we can plan accordingly.

 

If we have the teams listed here we will be sending out the Tournament rules/fees in the coming days. I would really appreciate everybody who ever is the Captain of the team mention the contact details in the email.

Main Intention of the tournament is to bring Desi/Asian people together who are interested in playing Volleyball.we would recommend to have team members to be Asian(Desi) ethnic background. Each team would need to have atleast 4 playing members.

Please confirm your entry ASAP latest by March 10th.

Going forward we are planning to conduct VB tournaments twice in a year, one in March/April and one in September/October. (Based on participants interest though :-) )

Please find the attached word doc with Fees, Rules and Schedule for the Volley Ball Tournament on March 22nd and 23rd 2014, also for your convenience i have mentioned schedule in this email . Due to less teams participation this time we have matches only in the afternoon starting from 2:30 PM which is good for all ;) Go through the schedule and do let us know if anybody have issues. Please reply to this email with the Team Rosters.

·         Fees for the tournament is $50/team, it will include for the Balls, Gatorade, Water and Trophies (Winner and Runner up).

We expect all the teams to be courteous to volunteer and watch Semifinal and Final matches(Sunday afternoon) regardless of their standing in the tournament.

If we change the schedule it's hard to manage umpiring and our(organizers) matches, if it is really a problem i need to see for re-shuffle few match timings and have to request other teams.

Hi All,

The Citizens Spring cup 2014 volleyball tournament is all set to roll as planned on Mar 22nd and 23rd. We have Winner, Runner up cups, medals for winners and runners, participation cup for remaining 6 teams and MVP cup for one in finals (Organizers/Umpires will pick). Water, Gatorade will be provided.

Few to take care of by Captain:

·         Be on time with the entire team for the game.

·         Any team is more than 15 mins late for a game may have to forfeit the game.

·         Keep control of team in high stress situations.

·         No new players allowed to be played in any team after tournament begins.

Once again on behalf of everyone i thank Krishna Murthy garu for sponsoring for this tournament.

Attached is the Tournament rules also schedule in the last page of the document. Please share with your team members.

Below is the key Rules:

Rules and Regulations: 

·         Sponsor is sponsoring for all expenses, it will include for the Balls, Gatorade, Water and Trophies.

·         Each team will be playing with 4 players in the court with 1-2 extra players. They can bench players anytime they want but before or after the serve.

·         Each team will be playing 3 total games in the league stage, one game against every other team in the Pool. The top 2 in Pool A & B will be playing the Semi-Finals with A1 vs. B2 and B1 vs. A2.

·         First serve will be determined by a coin flip. The team winning the coin flip may choose to serve first or may choose their side.

·         For every set a team can use Two x 2 min time outs.

·         All league games will be played for 15 points. If either of the team has 7 points with Zero points for opposition, the team with 7 Points wins the game. We don’t have a point for Service break. If the game is at game point (For     Ex: 14-13) and the opposition gets point the score goes back to 13-13.

·         All match consists of 3 sets for 15 points, the best 2 out of 3 sets wins the match, Semi’s consists of 3 sets of 15 points and Final’s will consist of 3 sets for 15 points, the best 2 out of 3 sets wins the match.

Hi All,

Glad we finished all the league matches today itself and thanks all for your co-operation, all teams played really very well. The teams who didn't make it to Semi's are due to just lack of practice :) i'm sure next time you guys will give even more tough competition and may qualify for next round's.

The top two teams in pools are going to play semi's and finals starting trow @ 8:30 AM unless there is a rain.

We expect all the teams to be courteous to volunteer and watch Semifinal and Final matches(Sunday Morning) regardless of their standing in the tournament.

Hi All,

It is with immense pleasure that I would like to inform you that the Volley Ball Tournament - Citizens Cup Spring 2014, organized by Citizens was a great success and on behalf of Citizens Club and the organizing committee of Citizens Cup Spring 2014, I would like to thank all the teams for your interest and participation in the tournament.

To update you on the tournament, Phantoms won the Citizens Cup Spring 2014 beating Everest in the finals. Hutendra of Everest team was awarded the MVP of the tournament for his terrific performance.

Special thanks to organizers and volunteers Rajesh Nuthi, Sai P, Karthik, Praveen, Naresh, Arjun Manchikanti, lakshman, Krishna Gaddam, Anjan.
