Open Government in Montgomery County, MD

Hello All, 

I am writing on behalf of Councilmember Hans Riemer in Montgomery County, MD.

In July, he introduced new legislation to provide a policy platform for open data publishing/transparency within the County.

After working with the County Executive and the appropriate oversight committee, the Council is expected to take final action on the bill tomorrow. 

On Wednesday, Councilmember Riemer will be joining the County Executive to discuss his legislation and unveil new technology tools that support more openness and transparency within the County. Please see the attached media advisory for more information.

UPDATE: Today - the Montgomery County Council voted to unanimously pass the MontgomeryCounty Open Data Act.
