SUB: EARTH DAY 2025 DONATE/PLANT A TREE CAMPAIGN:
Greetings from Greening Uganda. By this mail, we’re writing to invite you to join & participate in our 2025 Earth Day, Earth Week, Earth Month annual Mass Tree Planting PROJECTS 22nd April to 12th May. Effective today 22nd April to 12th May 2025, we will carry out mass tree planting activities in selected Public schools, you can join us by donating trees and physically participating in tree planting activities in public schools near you and in your area of Operation.
Between 22nd April and 12th May, we aim at Planting 100,000 trees in Urban Schools across the Country, with a keen focus on Northern Uganda and West Nile. This comes as a response to Climate Change, to address the increasing heat waves, rough storms, prolonged droughts, more trees will be able to provide the most needed conducive atmosphere for the communities identified above. We're experiencing immense heat waves, remember #TREES are the #LUNGS & #FRIDGES of mother #EARTH The Government of South Sudan in March 2024, officially closed all schools for 2 weeks due to excessive heat waves associated with #CLIMATECHANGE https://reliefweb.int/report/south-sudan/south-sudan-heatwave-forces-schools-shut-second-year-running#:~:text=Dangerously%20high%20temperatures%20have%20forced,groups%2C%20Save%20the%20Children%20said.
When we plant trees they will help in carbon sequestering by capturing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and transforming it into biomass through photosynthesis. As a Corporate Entity, Ngo, Individual, you can help donate tree seedlings to schools, communities, churches, and mosques in your neighborhood, help mobilise your clients and stakeholders into mass tree planting to counter the climate change impact.
