Dear all

I congratulate u all for organizing the program on BBMP budget at Yavanika. Unfortunately any meetings with BBMP would turn out to be a grievance meeting. Most of the questions were  problems of respective wards which can be handled by RWA's of the area

It would be good if u could email  the invitation to the group and invite 2 or 3 people from NGO's and RWA's and individual experts -with  purpose of the interaction -so that the purpose of the meeting is served to greater extent .This is only a suggestion

Dear Mr. Mukund,

Your point is well taken. We welcome your feedback. We had mailed
the invitations to RWAs with the request that they should e-mail their
suggestions/inputs to the budget of 2007. The programme schedule
itself made the objectives of the interaction clear. We asked all
those present to give their suggestions in the written forms becasue
there is not enough time to allow everyone to speak. We have hence a
written record of their suggestions. Many valid suggestions have been
made in the forms which we will be consolidating and forwarding to
Dilip Rau, Gaurav Gupta and others. I assure you that we will be
pursuing the matter to get adequate responses from them to each of the
suggestions/questions raised.

I agree with you that a lot of grievances of individual wards are
raised at these meetings, which strictly should not be raised during a
discussion on generic issues related to the city-wide budget. This
happens because citizens are never provided a periodic
institutionalised forum at their range or ward level, where they can
raise these issues.

In this context, I would like to inform all members of Citizens'
Action Forum that CIVIC has been conducting Grievance Redressal Melas
at Range-level for several years now inviting all six service
providers, namely, BMP, BWSSB, BDA, BESCOM, BMTC, Bangalore Police, on
a single platform, with the zonal DC also present. We collect the
grievances beforehand and make the agencies provide replies on the day
of the Mela. Any ward-level/range-level federation or RWA group is
welcome to send us their request for holding such Grievance Redressal
Melas in their areas and we will be most happy to do it.

Thanks and warm regards.
