Dear all

Wish u all a HAPPY UGADI

Let me congragulate the group  especially Col Mathew ,Kathyayini and Mukunda for the initiative,  preparing a budget and presenting itt to experts like Dr Paul and Mr. Sri Hari -which is not a easy task- it is an achivement

However as a young member and well wisher i wanted to share some thoughts please correct me if I am wrong

I was present till Dr Paul made his observations- but I did not find any BBMP staff  ( forget a senior official present during the presentation)- atleast some one from Finance

Media -both electronic and print media has not given adequate publicity

I have a suggestion- it would be good if the same budget proposal with the inputs  of Dr Paul and Mr. Sri Hari be incorporated and given as a Memorandum to Administrator, Dist in charge Minister and others -WITH A PRESS CONFERENCE  with imp electronic media like TV9, NDTV, CNN IBN AND ETV and most imp -Kannada dailies highlighting about the budget and ALSO PLANS TO CONTEST IN FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS BY CITIZENS - it would deftly reach many and  some of them MIGHT GET MOTIVATED

It would also be good to involve some eminent personalities in the group  who are not controversies like actor Ramesh,   Justice Venkatachala, Justice Saldhana, Sri  Sri  Ravishankar,Master Hiranniah and Simha  sports personalities and others who might be interested even  ready campaign for CITIZENS CANDIDATES
regds
Mukund

Dear Mr. Mukund,

Thank you for the appreciative words. We did make every effort to get
someone from BBMP, as our invitation itself indicated. Unfortunately,
Mr. Gaurav Gupta had to go to Delhi and Ms Lakshmi Venkatachalam
wanted to attend but was held up at a meeting. She called at 5.40 PM
and asked if she could come then. But by then, Dr. Ravindra was
giving his concluding remarks hence I told her that it was too late.
Since no one from BBMP came, media did not give the event the
attention it deserved. But it appears The Times of India has carried
a report.

Your suggestions about taking the inputs of Mr. Srihari and Dr. Paul
and presenting the reworked budgets to BBMP officials and then having
a press conference are very good and should be taken up.

A Happy Ugadi to you and all at Citizens' Action Forum!

Regards,
Kathyayini Chamaraj
