Dear All

I was invited by a group of senior congress party leaders/Cream of the party  for an interaction with Prof B K Chandrasekar at Jayanagar, they had also invited other resident associations also.Belive me it was not for any election propoganda, nothing of politics was mentioned and wanted to start a platform to interact  with public to discuss
various issues

I spoke about CAF and that we are keen to meet Political parties to select good candiates for forthcoming elections.I dint mention about Citizens Contesting elections. Some of them told me that Party is worried that unless good candidates are selected they may not win- WE DONT NOW HOW MUCH IS THE  TRUTH.Some of them gave me their names to be invited for CAF meetings

But definately with this meeting i agree with the views of N S MUKUND, COL Mathews and Kathyayani's that some political leaders of both BJP and Congress know the value for citizens and are afraid of  proposed 5th estate-if it really takes off as a movement

Prof BKC mentioned about our earlier meet at Legislators home and also on proposed next meet-he expressed his interest in participating  programs on SAVE BANGALORE

I requested Prof BKC to devote half day in a week or in a Month to hear public issues and he welcomed it- SO IS IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO MEET HIM AND GOVERNOR ON CDP before going to the Court. As the Chairman of Legislative council he can draw the attention of the Government if there are flaws in CDP and  represent citizens view

This is for ur information

Thanks, Mukund, for giving us this update.  It definitely sounds promising.  May be it was because of our meeting at the Legislators' Home that Mr. Ramalinga Reddy and Mr. P. R. Ramesh organised a whole day's programme on the 74th Amendment and challenges of Bruhat Bengaluru for Bangalore district congress workers last Saturday to which they had invited Mr. Jaipal Reddy, union minister for urban development, Dharam Singh, Siddaramaiah and H. K. Patil.  It is definitely a preparation for the elections;  they will not admit it naturally.  I spoke to Mr. P. R. Ramesh at the meeting and he was keen to bring congress workers for our next discussion on the setting up of the Metropolitan Planning Committee which we have scheduled for Saturday, July 28th.  Prof. BKC has agreed to come for the meeting and has booked the Legislators' Home Conference Hall for us once more.  It should be an interesting meeting.  I hope CAF members will block the date and attend it.

Regards,
Kathyayini

Dear Friends,

Thank you  NM [to distinguish between and your namesake NSM!] for this news.

Politicians are also realising that times are changing. However, we need to be & remain the Fifth Estate.

In fact, by a strange coincidence, I was thinking of inviting all opposition parties and Govt parties to interact with citizens on CDP & the amendment. [The amendment is more dangerous than the CDP. It makes a mockery of the CDP. ]

This, interaction with politicos, we need to do in parallel with the PIL. No need to delay one for the other.

Lets plan this.

Regards,

Mathew
