It is a good note -an awareness note to the Catracted eye, it would be good if it is circulated in appartments, to professionals and ladies.This can also go as press release with a press conference by CAF-especially thro channels like TV9 ,IN BANGALORE. THIS CAN BE A COMMON CAMPAIGN IN ALL WARDS OF BBMP URGING EDUCATED TO VOTE AND SELECT THEIR OWN BEST CANDIDATE  WHO CAN DELIVER GOODS TO THEIR EXPECTATION (IF THERE ARE NO OUR OWN SPONSORED CANDIDATES)

.Let us not talk about putting candidates but  first motivate citizens to vote then we can be selective in putting up candidates where we have strength and organisational capability

 

We should also involve eminent personalities, citizens and who have contributed to the society to support such activity which adds value or even motivate people to vote including some even un educated .Even if educated become vote bank even political party's will also select quality candidates

 

Kathyayani- it was a good program on TV9 congrats for ur frank opinion. see if u can have similar program on voter awareness with CAF

 

I feel the young/new  voters  can make a difference

Kindly read the attached note which we have started distributing to citizens of our ward to create the badly needed awareness.Soon after BMP's reservation policy of the ward is known, we will start IDENTIFYING the most deserving candidate and persuade him/her to contestthe election and will whole heartedly support him/her. Response to our note has been very positive and encouraging.

We in ward 100 have taken the FIRST STEP. It may not all be a all-successful- story.  But we have started. GANDHIGIRI  have already started functions like

DONATE USED ARTICLES FOR THE NEEDY.  We collected 3 wagon (2 tonner) loads. During this event many came to know of GANDHIGIRI and joined us. This is a way to reach out to people.  They are out there. We have to find a tool to reach them. Shortly We  are taking the next step.

 

It is time to take the FIRST STEP on the Bangalore city arena.  People are fed up with all theories of what is do be done, and that is the reason why we get that low percentage.

 

As I suggested let us organise a public meeting of all interested people and RWAs. This will atleast find people with the same goal under  one roof.

 

Give them a chance to assemble

Lot of mails are being exchanged on the advisability of sponsoring citizens' candidates in the forthcoming elections to BBMP. Personally I beleive that unless the middle class wakes up from its slumber and participate in the electoral process it becomes very difficult to change the situation.

 

However one major question that is posed when asked to exercise their franchise is that they fing that there are no good candidates contesting the elctions, especially in the case of elections to local bodies and that is why they dont want to vote.

 

The logical aqnswer to such a question is to sponsor our own citizens candidates in all the BBMP constutiencies and get them elected.

 

I have made a brief note on this and have attached the same to this mail. Kindly go through the same and offer your suggestions and opinion.

 

This is only a beginning of the dabate, there are certainly lot more issues to be considered. So let's make a beginning.
