I agree with Seng Loke: citGadget looks very promising, especially if
we can narrow down some of the variables (e.g., publication date or
Google accessioning date).

One other tool would be to be able to search by authors' institutions
-- I can imagine a number of academic librarians who would love to be
able to know which faculty publications have entered Google Scholar in
the last three months (to pick one example).
