Dear (ISC)2 Members,
It is with deep regret and sadness that we say goodbye to Mr. Harold
F. Tipton, CISSP-ISSAP, ISSMP, one of our founders and a key architect
and long-time keeper of the (ISC)2 CBK, who passed away on Friday,
March 16. His career encompassed 35 years of passionate, selfless
dedication to the information security profession and to furthering
the (ISC)2 mission. You can listen to Mr. Tipton's reflections on the
profession in his own words from one of (ISC)2's Founder's videos
taped at the (ISC)2 20th Anniversary celebration in early 2009:

Hal has had an immeasurably positive impact on thousands of
information security professionals around the world, and his
contributions have shaped (ISC)2's vision and mission and helped
define the information security profession. It is for this reason that
in 2001, (ISC)2 established an award in his name, the Harold F. Tipton
Lifetime Achievement Award - https://www.isc2.org/tipton-award.aspx.
(ISC)2 will continue to celebrate his life and body of work by
awarding professionals who carry on his tradition of selfless,
lifelong commitments to the advancement of the information security
profession.
I encourage you to pay tribute to Hal by sharing your thoughts and
