I am aware that the timestamp of the SensorEvent is the nanoseconds since the operating system started (uptime).On the other hand the getTimestamp of the Image (that comes from the ImageReader) is measured in nanoseconds but the timebase depends on the source providing the images (Camera, CameraDevice, etc). In my case I am using the CameraDevice (camera2) but I haven't found what is the timebase of the CameraDevice.

It's not possible to do what you're asking with 100% certainty. Pretty much everything we're going to be able to come up with can be spoofed or tampered with. I don't have details on this specific case, but it may be possible that you're just over thinking it. First, will the accused even be smart enough to challenge your evidence with a plausible scenario as to how it would have been tampered with? Probably not. Second, will the court even care if they did? I think in most cases, the standard for evidence is much lower than what you're expecting. Simply keeping detailed records with video and a simple on screen timestamp may be enough.

While plenty of TV and movie plots use tampered photo/video evidence as a focal point, it really is rare. My BS is in criminal justice so I have a very good level of knowledge in regards to evidence, procedure, etc. Another thing that would help bolster your evidence is to enclose the system. Make it so access was view/read only. Very good, very legitimate convictions can be made on evidence far less verifiable than video. A simpler way is, again, as referenced by Andrew 2836. My only additional piece of advice would be find out what, if any, videotaping laws may apply in your area. Depending on what you are taping and where the camera and the area viewed are located, you might have to post that cameras are active, or have permission from the owner of the physical sites themselves (not sure about your details).
