Wiki delete question

Im working on archiving the the wiki and Im changing the the old pages
by using the move to re title the pages by putting "fall 2010" in
front of them. When i do this rather than just overiding the old file
it creates a new one. For example if I changed "display Karvel" to
"Fall 2010 karvel", both the old title and the new one will be
displayed in two separate pages. So I tired deleting the the old page
and it deleted it but it also deleted the information off of the new
page. Any ideas whats going on?

When a page is moved, then a new page is created with the new title, such as "Fall 2010 Display Karvel". When this is done, if you go to the old page then you see something like:

Internship2Career: Display karvel
Redirect page ->Internship2Career: Fall 2010 Display karvel.

If this is what the page displays, you can safely hit 'delete' tab on this page.

Mike, I just moved 'Display aaron' to 'Fall 2010 Display aaron'. Go to the old page, click delete, when you'll see:

Delete "Internship2Career:Display aaron"
You are about to detele ... Please confirm that you intend to do this, ...
Reason for deletion:
Other/additional reason: content was REDIRECT ...

Then click "delete page" button.

The newly 'moved' page, 'Fall 2010 Display aaron' will remain in the wiki.

If both pages disappeared, then it's because the new page was deleted. You might try to add a new page, move it to another one, delete the old, and see that the new stays.

Okay figured it out, kinda confusing! too bad i deleted Karvel's and Brice's pages before figuring it out! Any way to bring them back?

I don’t know if the pages were marked as deleted or deleted for good. I’ll ask Chris to look into it on Wednesday.
