Version 8.20 of SteelVis, the NIST CIS/2 to VRML and IFC Translator, is now available.
SteelVis now includes a utility that reads a CIS/2 file and generates an Excel spreadsheet. This is useful for debugging CIS/2 files.
Improvements have also been made for generating X3DOM files. X3DOM files can be displayed in a web browser without a VRML or X3D plugin. Currently the only web browsers that support this capability are beta versions of Google Chrome 9 and Firefox 4.
To upgrade, if you're a current user, in SteelVis go to Help > Check for Update. If not, go to http://cic.nist.gov/vrml/cis2.html and follow the links to download SteelVis.
