Version 8.06 of SteelVis, the NIST CIS/2 to VRML and IFC Translator,
is now available.

This version improves how the cardinal point offset is modeled in an
IFC file. Without getting into the technical details, up until this
version, the offset was modeled on the IFC Profile position. Now the
default is to model it on the IFC Extrusion position. This only
applies when using Extruded Parametric Profiles (IFC tab, Shape
Representation).

Either method can be selected and both should result in the same
visual appearance of the IFC model. All IFC applications should
display either method correctly, however, Bentley software does not
import the IFC file correctly and the offset modeled with the Profile
position will look wrong. It looks OK with the Extrusion.

To upgrade, if you're a current user, in SteelVis go to Help > Check
for Update. If not, go to http://cic.nist.gov/vrml/cis2.html and
follow the links to download a copy.
