Hello,

So I have a few problems concerning drilling.
First of all, the exporting of excellon files has the .drd extension instead of .drl (from diptrace). Furthermore The files seem to be empty, when I change the extension. If I export a drill file from gerber output and give it the .drl extension, cirQwizard doesn't seem to recognise it.

Could anyone help me with this?

Hi,

The process of export from DipTrace is documented in a blog post at cirqoid.com - http://cirqoid.com/blogs/ideas/17845932-cirqoid-blogging-again-laser-range-finder-with-tft-display

Try following these steps and let us know if you still need some assistance.

Regards,
Simon

So, I tried the method described in the blogpost. I got the drill files to import. However when I get to the drill step it just shows one black dot, and when I click run it just goes to the position about the dot, and then stops. Instead of drilling the actual holes.

Hi,

Do you mind sharing the files you are having a problem with? This way I can try to replicate your issue.

I solved this problem by opening the Top.drd file in notepad and resaving it as Top.drd  if I simply renamed it in windows the extension wouldn't change.
