QualityThe samples should be of high quality and not have any noticeable distortion, clipping, or artifacts. They should also have a balanced frequency range, and sound clean and crisp. You may need to listen to several demos to compare the overall quality of each kit.
Variety. The kit should have a range of samples that can be used to create different sounds and textures. A good Trap drum kit should have a variety of kicks, snares, hi-hats, cymbals, and percussion samples. This allows you to create a diverse range of Trap-inspired beats.
Sound design and processing techniques. Find out how the samples are processed, and which techniques are used to enhance the sound quality and style for Trap music. The samples should have the appropriate amount of compression, EQ, and other effects to create a polished and professional sound.
Suitability for the project. The kit should have samples that fit the tempo, mood, and overall style of the track. For example, if you plan to create a dark and moody Trap beat, then you may want to use samples that match the tone and mood of that style.
Compatibility with sampler software. Ensure that the kit is available in a format that can be loaded into your sampler. Some kits may require additional software or plugins to be installed, and others are widely compatible with any DAW.
The 15 included kits are universally mapped out, making it easy to quickly switch and audition different kits in productions. The pack is ideal for Trap producers, as well as those producing Dubstep, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, and other genres.
The kit provides a multitude of drum sounds for each type, allowing users to choose the best sound for their track. Expect to find 49 clap samples, 30 cymbal samples, 46 hi-hat samples, 47 kick samples, 44 percussion samples, and 64 snare samples.
Next, you should consider the sounds you already have. This will help you prioritize which drum samples you need the most. If this is your first premium drum kit, perhaps you should choose one with the widest selection of samples, like Mars. Alternatively, if you already have the essential sounds, choose a pack that addresses a specific need.
I may have some work coming in the pipeline that requires trap beats. I get the basics, but am not fluent in trap music.
what kind of ios app are the best for writing trap beats? iphone apps would be best , because i need to right on the go. As far as ipad, is BM3 probably the best?
excited to hear your recommendations
Um... ok I thought this would be a no-brainer and someone would have said this by now. If you'd like to go deep with propper hip-hop beat making, your best option would be BM3.
Wanna go beyond the generic sounds, you would have to either buy packs, import from the net/other apps, or do some field recording.
Nevertheless, BM3 is the best for any hip-hop based genre IMHO.

Hmmm, I am not sure, I just did a big Landr dump and put all the wavs into the type folders together 'kick' 'hihats' etc. I tend not to be a genre purist but think any electronic or hip hop spin off genre does well with cross pollination of sounds. On the Landr site you can do a filter for hiphop/trap though and there were specific ones there.
Here's a remake of a famous beat by Tank God to show you what Gadget can do with what it has already out of the box, no IAPs, originally done on iPhone but transferred via cloud to my iPad for the screenshots.

Thanks mate. In case you wondered, the beat is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek joke. It's from a song and artist I absolutely can't stand and have panned across this forum, but it doesn't mean Tank God's beat isn't hella dope.
You can literally make anything in Gadget, eapecially after purchasing the IAPs, everything from Trap as you saw, to Bass House (hint: use Chiangmai and Chicago), to pure ambient bliss (Helsinki), even disco covers like this...
You can knock out a rudimentary mixdown despite the limited number of IFX slots (although normally I bounce the stems and do the mixdown in AUM). Gadget is the swiss army knife of music apps. Cheers, and I hope you enjoy.
