Supercomputers shoved into thin space beneath extra-tough glass. Digi-Slates. Actual Gibsonian, Stephensonian objects from the future. Throw them in your backpack, a few hundred grams, big screen, cellular high-speed connectivity, all-day battery life. Uhm, yes, please.

What do I do on my computers? I write, edit photographs, design books, record and edit audio, send emails, and research online. I also do a bit of web development, and so from time to time I will sit in Terminal.app, git-ing things, knocking on the sides of servers.

iA Writer, Scrivner, and Ulysses are all full featured, totally serviceable writing apps. You can write anything from a grocery list to a John McPhee-esque non-fiction opus on the iPad. Export as PDFs or EPUBs or .docx files. And because iOS is first and foremost designed for single-context use, the default view is full-screen focus-mode. iCloud as a syncing and storage option has matured and now works reliably. Handing off documents from iPad to iPhone to desktop is often seamless.

Photography ushers in a whole separate class of headaches.8 Unquestionably, the iPad Pro should be the ultimate photography editing machine: A gorgeous high resolution, wide-gamut color screen, perfect multi-touch sensitivity, an A-class chip able to rip through raw files. So where does it fail?

See the work of Mike Matas and Bret Victor for examples of how fluid multi-context interactions can be. Everything in the OS could and should be an active object. Considering the power of these machines, it should all flow like a mini Minority Report workstation.

The iPads of today are a far cry from that oddly rounded, difficult to hold, heavy, low-ish resolution first version of the iPad released in 2010. These new iPad Pros are, from a hardware perspective (whispering with hedged hyperbole), quite possibly the most impressive, certainly most beautiful, consumer computers ever made. And so expectations should be high for what we can do with them. We should expect to do more, more easily.

I created an essay type quiz question, which requires the student to type in the essay into the text editor. Accessing this essay type question on the desktop website version is perfectly fine. However, using the mobile app on the ipad the text editor doesn't appear below the essay question. Please take a look at the snapshot of the desktop website version and the mobile app version on the ipad (pics attached). Please suggest possible fix for this lay-man.

Special circumstances in the modern world necessitate that people keep up with developments in order to fit in. The digitalized world to which we are exposed as we go about our everyday lives is an indication of such a scenario. People, especially students, need to be reformists in order to live comfortably in such a state. Students are seeing textbooks from a new viewpoint as part of the modern trend. In view of this, there are many explanations why books should be replaced with iPads. As a result, the essay would argue that in today's school settings, textbooks should be replaced with iPads. Textbooks are bulky and thick, and they are easily lost in lockers and at home.

Consider a case where a student has some assignment to complete within a specified time, but to his astonishment, he forgot to carry the reference book. It will be quite challenging to such student and, therefore, need to carry an iPad that is lighter and the only reference all through the classes arises. With an iPad, it will be easier for the student always to realize that is missing since it is one compared to many books a student is supposed to carry at once. Nevertheless, a student will look at the iPad as fun thus extrinsic motivation to his learning (Hu, 2011). Personally, I hate referring to big and voluminous textbooks but find much fun manipulating a tablet.

Additionally, the modern world regards textbooks as archaic, old-fashioned and obsolete and even argue that they are of use the first years of purchase after which they become outdated therefore a need to purchase others (Lent, 2012). With that rate, I am sure most of us would not like spending yearly on books hence an urgent need for a solution. The challenge can get fixed with purchase of iPads which can be used for many years and cannot get regarded as outdated if they remain functional. Also, the syllabus and content on such iPad can be updated and upgraded each time a change arises. However, compared to textbooks, iPads are prone to damages like breakages, but with proper care and maintenance, they can last longer.

Despite the fact that iPads may be expensive, they are environmentally friendly. It cannot get presumed that anyone would prefer saving at the expense of chopping down trees with the knowledge of their benefits. With iPad, there will be a notable reduction in tree cutting, which gets used in the manufacturing of papers for printing textbooks. This illustrate the need to replace them with iPads so as to conserve our environment as the global warming issue will be solved faster (Lent, 2012).

Regardless of the many functions, an iPad can serve to the extent of distracting learning; they present an exciting experience for students who are focused, self-disciplined and ready to learn. Students use the internet to access updated information that textbooks would not provide. Yes, they can deviate from checking the information available on the internet and instead entertain themselves but remember these are students who already know their role and duty as students. They hold learning dear since it is their responsibility.

Irrespective of the cost-friendliness of books, other needs of the students must get catered for thus making that which got thought as cheap more expensive. IPads being costly have added advantage to the students (Lent, 2012). They cut the cost that would have gotten incurred in purchasing calculators, colored markers, pencils, pens and highlighters which are apparent requirements for students (Hu, 2011).

In summary, textbooks are good for learning. However, they are outnumbered by iPad since they seem best as far as education is concerned. We should acknowledge that change is inevitable and accept the replacement since it promises a lot of positives. Think of yourself struggling with textbooks when all people around you have transformed to iPad use.

My favorite device is iPad. I just love big large screen. My Laptop also has big large screen but my laptop is not convenient to carry, because it is big and heavy. iPad is smaller than laptop so it is more convenient to carry. In addtion, ipad's screen is bigger than iPhone. Usually I usually watch movies or YouTube videos on the way to school. If I watch them on my with iPhone.... I don't want to imagine. Maybe I can't watch movies for more than 30 minutes. As you know watching movies on small screen can makes your eyes hurt.

Except that, Ipad has many merits. I can use it instead of cellphone. It is very important for me. Because my cellphone is so old that battery is quickly abrasive. I don't know when my phone dies (turn off/ out of battery/ shut down) . That's why I use iPad for suffering the internet. Than So I can save battery of my phone. I used iPad very usefully when I traveled. I find Ipad useful when travelling. I can look up information, such as hostel, train, bus... I found some information for traveling. like hostel, train, bus. I could use internet every Starbucks. So I looked for street to go to hostel and captured the map. Also I send many times in the train and bus during the traveling. At that time When there's no wi-fi so ,I can read some offline books before which I downloaded . And I took a picture with iPad when my cellphone died. Last but not least, I can use Ipad to take photos when my phone is out of battery

And now I study with iPad. Most my class have many materials. I download the class materials on the iPad before the class. It is very useful and save papers. Also I can study anywhere if I have iPad. Actually I don't study except I'm in class. But maybe someone want to study anywhere. That's why I love iPad.

What is your favourite device?

The gadget also makes it possible for learners and teachers to share ideas on how to solve different math problems. Learners are able to communicate with each other through discussion board because their iPads gadgets facilitate group discussions more effectively. The iPad enables some students to present their findings to a large audience when through projectors.

The iPad offers a lot of flexibility to both learners and teachers on learning methods used in the classroom and outside the classroom. Instructors can conduct various lessons electronically because students are equipped with tools that allow them to take notes electronically.

This device makes it possible for teachers to assess their learners more effectively. It enables instant communication between a learner and a teacher. Therefore, a teacher is able to monitor the progress a learner is making on assigned tasks through feedback. Learners are able to use response systems to brief their instructors on progress they have made on different math activities they have been assigned.

The iPad has several applications which improve way students learn new problem solving skills. The device enables students improve their skills in geometry by using various applications which are easy to use.

There are several challenges which limit the use of iPads in schools. The device is very expensive and this limits its usage by instructors and learners in various learning environments. The costs which students and their schools incur when purchasing these gadgets can be allocated to other activities which improve learning outcomes.
