Our Director General Mats Granryd attended the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, where he outlined the GSMA’s commitment to expanding the footprint of its Humanitarian Connectivity Charter. The Charter unites the industry under a set of principles aiming
to harness the power of mobile technology to support people affected by humanitarian emergencies. Our press release highlights the newest signatory of the Charter, Turkcell.

Connected Society introduces the Mobile Internet Skills Training Toolkit

The MISTT is a visually rich training resource designed for MNOs, NGOs, development organisations and governments to provide training to enhance basic knowledge and understanding of the mobile internet and how it can positively impact lives. It offers an
introduction to using the mobile internet, focusing on three services - Google, WhatsApp and YouTube - on an entry-level android smartphone.
