Dear CEWG members,

Our upcoming Circular Economy Working Group meeting is next Wednesday, September 29, 6-8PM. We plan to devote a significant portion of the meeting to working on the DMV Roadmap.

We will have guest speaker, Julia Wakeling, who recently came to Washington DC from British Columbia in Canada to earn a graduate degree in business sustainability at American University. She will review circular economic initiatives in the British Columbia region and in the Canadian national context. She will provide an overview of the key stakeholders in the region and different governance structures that are working together on circular economy initiatives and a systems thinking perspective. Lastly, she will go over some of the major successes from education and inclusion, environmental, waste, emissions and services perspectives.

Last May we met to present on strategies that have been implemented in other world cities that have successfully incorporated circular economy initiatives. We will provide a brief overview in a lead up to the DMV Roadmap planning session. All are welcome to attend. Those who have signed up to join the DMV Roadmap will receive additional information.

You can RSVP here and we will provide the zoom link.

We hope to see you there,
