i have had Roku Express for a year. and picture on living room TV has been HD quality and fine..then in the last week or so the picture quality is NOT HD level...grainy..and not what it has been...internet is not the issue...and i have bedroom tv with Roku..no issues with that picture quality..and NetFlix is high quality on Living room..i cant find anything on a fix for this and of course i cant get support from Roku..help??

Next is the content you're watching. Since you mentioned Netflix, before beginning playback hit the * button and (unless they've finally disabled it) this turns on a small debug window while playing that shows the resolution and bitrate currently being shown. I went though a multi-month period several years ago when my Netflix was simply terrible, but everything else was fine. My ISP was able to trace something in the Internet itself was throttling my Netflix stream, but they couldn't identify who/what was behind it. It finally went away after several months.

If absolutely everything is looking bad on this device, and the display is set correctly, you might be getting some WiFi interference that is impacted the Express more than other devices in your home. I'd try changing the WiFi channel in your router as a first step.

Go to Settings> Display Type And you will be given a choice between what type of display type you have 108OI or 720p or it you can select auto detect if you want Roku to auto detect what type of display you have.

I have AT&T 1000 and a cat 5 hard wired home. my internet is top quality. But every movie I try to view on Netflix, HBO, Apple, all come in very very poor quality through the Roku. I have tried everything except throwing away this Roku device.

I don't use Apple TV very often, but I did test Apple, HBO Max and Prime Video recently on my Ultra 4800. On all channels I get the highest quality the providers offer, which depending on the video might be 1080 HD, 2160 UHD, with HDR or Dolby Vision where offered. The audio is all DD+, with Atmos on titles that support it.

We need more detail about the information above, and what specific titles you're trying to watch. But your experience doesn't match what most users see. Being able to duplicate your experience is the best way we can attempt to assist.

I have had no issues with my Nebula playing HD content. I also do not experience any audio lag when using HDMI connections, we have used one of my Roku devices, my nether stream box and our laptop to connect to it without issues.

the netflix app that was installed had to be updated right away, afterwards the whole unit had a firmware update and after that netflix again updated and has worked since. maybe check to see if there is a firmware update for your nebula and then try again

After spotty performance of Apple TV+ content through our TCL TV's Roku Apple TV app, we decided to try a new Apple TV 4K. The problems are still there -- episodes of Ted Lasso and Schmigadoon both struggled through, frequently bumping down to lower resolutions, skipping around, and freezing. The Apple TV is connected via ethernet to a fast connection, and no other channels ever have any trouble streaming 4K content. Is there a throttling problem with Spectrum, or possibly degraded Apple services (the status page says everything's fine)? We're on the brink of returning the device and cancelling our subscription.

Same issue here. New Apple TV 4K, up-to-date firmware. All apps stream 4K content flawlessly, except for Apple TV+. I'd say about 1/3 of a 1-hour episode is "fuzzy" looking, but no pauses for buffering or anything like that. It looks like a YouTube video going from 4K to 240p when experiencing network issues.

im trying on windows devices and apple devices (MacBooks) both on app and browser, absolute shambles. Content not playing at all, really glitchy and frustrating. Will probably not go past the trial period to paying. Shoddy work.

So I have a smart Samsung TV and pay the 5.00 a month for the appletv app content. I get the same problems as the rest of you. Episodes freeze up and then spin and eventually go to a grey screen that says video cannot be loaded there is a problem with the network. So I go and check my network and everything is good. I check Netflix, Prime Video, Idmb tv, you name it all work great. This has been going on since I got the appletv service about 2 months ago. And I am paying for this misery. They have good shows, but I have really about had enough of the problems.

Similar problem, been experiencing for a few months now. Roku TV with the Apple TV + app, no streaming issues with any other service except Apple TV app. Fast internet, strong signal, etc. Impossible to watch any content on Apple TV app on the Roku TV. Watch on phone or ipad, no issues at all, same WiFi signal. Apple needs to correct this. Rebooted router, factory reset TV and reinstalled the apps, software update, nothing works to improve the Apple TV buffering issues.

I have buffering issues with 4K content using the Apple+ app on my TCL Roku TV. It looks like a problem with the app itself, as other 4K content using different Roku apps, such as Netflix or Prime, works well. I now use an Amazon 4K Firestick to stream the Apple+ content. It streams the Apple+ 4K content flawlessly. It seems incredible to me that Apple finds it so hard to fix this problem.

contrary to what some others have reported, the os 15 update seems to have made it worse, not better; type of content doesn't matter either- 4k is much worse, but freezing, stuttering, etc. happens just as often on hd content on hulu, sling, pluto and other apps as well as the apple tv content. we're not having the problem on the tv's os, or on roku set top box- 4k works fine there, and all the apps seem to work.

Same problem, been experiencing for a few months now. Roku TV with the Apple TV + app, no streaming issues with any other service except Apple TV app. Fioptics internet, strong signal, etc. Impossible to watch any content on Apple TV app on the Roku TV. Apple needs to correct the problem. Rebooted router, factory reset TV and reinstalled the apps, software update, nothing works to improve the Apple TV buffering issues.

Apple - where are you on resolving significant issues with Apple TV? Something has changed. You can see from this thread that the problem is with Apple, not other streaming services and not the internet.

Battling with poor streaming of Apple TV+ content ONLY for weeks. Apple TV 4K 1st get. 250+ Mbps consistent at Apple TV. Content dropping to low resolution, sometimes staying there for the entire show, sometimes toggling back and forth between 4K resolution and poor quality. Stopping/stuttering also. Only Apple TV+ content has this problem. Been playing with HDR/Dolby Vision format, changing HDMI cable, changing HDMI port on TV, even put an extra RF amp on my coax cable.

You can always be wrong and it could be a Netflix account issue, either you have not been billed for the month or there is a suspension on your account. Or maybe there are too many people use this account to watch. Make sure everything is okay with your account.

Update your Roku software regularly to ensure your TV remains compatible with Netflix's app. If your Roku is up to date, check for Netflix app updates. The older version of Roku OS may also not work properly.

The last fix for Netflix problems is to reset your Roku. It will clear the device's built-up cache which could cause multiple problems. All the data will be delete, and you need to redownload the apps. Be careful about this method.

Roku devices fail to stream Netflix on Roku devices due to several factors. As Roku does not require any cables, it relies only on an internet connection to work. An unstable or weak internet connection is the major cause of Netflix not responding to Roku.

AirDroid Cast is a must-have app for those who prefer top-notch streaming on their smart TV. The reason is that this app allows users to screen mirror the mobile, iPad, laptop, Mac, etc. easily, which has relieved people from facing Netflix issues.

To avoid the hassle of resetting devices, AirDroid Cast offers a simple and free solution for watching Netflix on TV. It requires a low space and its compatibility with all browsers makes it the first choice of users. Moreover, users can enjoy the lag-free experience and high-quality streaming.

I would agree that the TV is the problem. Or, if my recent experince is anything to go by, the quality of the Wi-Fi signal reaching the TV. I would try to improve that first - my own Roku enabled TV was having streaming issues with the Spectrum app (all other streaming apps were just fine) when the Roku in it showed signal strentgh as only "Fair". Things have improved dramatically since I was able to get the signal strength up to "Good", which admittedly took a lot of work AND the purchase of a more capable router.

I have had Verizon Fios for a few years now and overall have been satisfied. However, over the last month or so my previously reliable Netflix streaming has gotten pretty much unusable. During a movie or show, it will stop for buffering every minute or two and hang for about 30 seconds, then resume, then repeat. I am currently suspicious that Verizon has put in place new network policies that corrupt the Netflix streams since they have a competing service. Or, they just don't care about providing the level of service i am paying for.

1) Problem comes and goes at different days and times so any of the following observations are hard to be 100%. One day we can watch a whole movie and it is fine, the next day we can't use it at all. Generally it is worst in the evenings when I presume Internet load is highest.
