GD installation / library problem

I installed everything and I tested my modules and this came up. I do have a macbook air so it is very different than what I am used to on my old computer.

Naturally I found the other way to install circos on os x http://zientzilaria.herokuapp.com/blog/2012/06/03/installing-circos-on-os-x/

I get to the point where I start to install the other libraries and it works fine until I try to extract jpegsrc.v8d.tar.gz

Not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be appreciated.

Your curl process might not have finished downloading the file. You need to try again, if it still fails, download in the browser and cd to the Downloads folder and try uncompressing again.

Okay thanks that worked but now I have encountered another problem. When I am installing the other library.

I don't understand why it is not recognizing the site at all. I tried to type it into the browser but it is not working. I am trying to follow these steps but I cannot get past the download part.

Thanks that worked too. It extracted and configured fine. So then I downloaded gd and it doesn't seem that any of the libraries work. Could I have downloaded incorrectly?

Jen -- were you able to get this to work?  I just ran the ./configure and it gave me the same output.
