Problem with Loading Large Alignment – Worked Before

Hi, I'm trying to load an alignment of approximately 500 MB, but after a while it gives me an error. Smaller alignments load without any issues. I’ve previously loaded files of this size without any problems. Any idea what might be causing this?

Great, thanks for sharing that. Sometimes the upload produces this message, but if you refresh the page, you will see the upload completed ok.

Sometimes it will not. If you did not try that already, give it a quick try, and let me know if the file did appear in your data folder.

I will assume for now that it has failed.

It is possible the failure is a result of low bandwidth in your location, which can cause the page to "timeout"

I was able to upload a 1 GB file in just a few minutes from my home, which has pretty good upload bandwidth (1000 MBps).

The most robust way to upload larger files is to use the globus system. 

If that is possible you might want to investigate it.

Globus uploads can be restarted.
