To order a birth or marriage certificate online, the name on the credit card you use to pay for the order must match (1) your name (requestor) on the order form and (2) your name on the birth or marriage certificate, otherwise your order may be delayed or denied pending further research.


A portal administration fee of $2.50 is added for each increment of up to five (5) record copies. A total fee of $12.50 WILL be charged for an order requesting one (1) certified copy of a vital record that is found or for conducting the search if the requested vital record is not found.

The deadline for registering vehicles is the last working day of the expiration month of the current registration. However, if the registration expiration date occurs on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the delinquent renewal penalty fee will not be charged until after the next working day.

Proof of Hawaii motor vehicle insurance is required to obtain a vehicle inspection, and the vehicle inspection sticker and certificate are necessary to operate a vehicle on all Hawaii roads and for all vehicle ownership registration transactions.


Hawaii residents on active duty and members of the National Guard and Reserve and who are assigned to units located in Hawaii are exempt from motor vehicle weight taxes for one vehicle registered in their name.
