notpossible for note events to trigger scripts, and translating notes is only possible when faderbank is in leader mode. there could be a mechanism implemented where you could poll for notes but then yes, it would be limited to your metro rate (or as you suggest you could trigger scripts from gate out).

A friend is putt one together and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions of where I could get a hold of metal front and back plate for this? Did everyone just DIY their own one and cut them out at home?

Grawart in Poland are sometimes used by DIY heads and the panels I got from them for another run were good, too. Alternatively, Front Panel Designer files have been made by someone in a thread, so Front Panel Express might be able to make you some.

Yes. I have been trying to pass midi through from Norns scripts. The only data passed is invalid midi data with a B style dongle. Also no data at all is passed on an A style dongle. Here is some pictures documenting some tests routing midi from Norns to the 16n then out the Midi jack to a laptop.

You might also want to add a filtering cap - just one - between 5v and gnd. 10-47u electrolytic, that sort of thing. I should have really done this on the original design - it will remove ripple and noise on the cv outs from any usb power instability. (The Berlin modular version has one added). With all the leds on your 5v supply, it might help reduce any additional noise they add.

Hi everyone,

just finished building my AtoVProject Faderbank 16n. I have a question about this point from the github following. I plan to use Teletype and an ER-301 (and some other i2c-devices) in the same ecosystem. So should I install the pull-up resistors or not? I did a first trial with installed resistors only with Teletype connected to the faderbank. Seems no problem for this short test. Can someone give recommendation or experiences to install or leave those two resistors in case of using both modules simultaneously? Thanks!

every opamp IC is responsible for two channels. Two of the opamps in the chip are responsible for straight-up buffering the CV out; the other two are voltage dividers that translate the 0-5V of the fader into 0-3.3V for the teensy.

Double-check all the op-amp pins, and also the passive components around them. If you have a high-res photo of the soldering, that might help to debug. But this very much sounds like an issue with the SMD solder work.

EDIT: SOLVED

@tehn : Hi Brian, no one with an ER-301 and a Teletype in the same ecosystem read my thread right now . But I would like to be sure not to damage anything as I have installed the pullup resistors R17 and R18 in the 16n. As I understood, those resistors would be needed if I use only the ER-301 with the 16n standalone (which will be in my case only from time to time, but would be good to have this option!!) in Master Mode. But in a setup with Teletype, ER-301 and some other i2c-modules with 16n in Follower Mode, what could happen in badest situation? Should I think about a Mod to be able to temporaly bridge the pullup resistors? Thanks a lot for your rating!

The 16n AtoVproject Rework is aimed at solving a problem very specific to modular synthesis. As a patch is getting more and more complex a forest of cables has grown over your system before you know it. This module allows you to take the control from the modular into a very ergonomic controller that integrates perfectly into a modern studio.

The 16n AtoVproject Rework is a controller sending CV, I2C, MIDI jack, USB MIDI (compatible PC, Mac, iPad etc...), making it the absolute ultimate controller for any of your hardware and software all in one!

In 2019, the Berlin Modular community showed interest in building the 16n Faderbank. As one of the Berlin Modular community organizers, I decided to make a redesign of the 16n faderbank following the suggestions and desires of our members. The 16n AtoVproject Rework is the result.
