Architectureand building professionals as well as students can take Archicad for a test drive. GRAPHISOFT, the developers of Archicad, offers a 30-Day Trial and an educational version for students, teachers and schools. This download can be used by any professional for 30 days or by a student or professor for a period of one year (renewable annually) if they meet the academic requirements. After you activate your trial explore Archicad with short tutorials.

Once the trial license has expired, it is automatically converted to a monthly subscription for a full commercial license of Archicadif the credit card information was provided during the activation. You can cancel your subscription any time.

In this article, we'll show you how professionals can request a free commercial trial of Archicad. If you are a student, teacher, or want to apply for licenses for educational institutions, read this article and our FAQ.

Note: We offer trial only for subscription. That means it will run the most up-to-date version of the software and all the others our licensing solution (10duke) is able to manage. Currently it runs only Archicad 27. The availability of trial for Archicad 26 is expected from April 10, 2024, and for Archicad 28, from October 4, 2024.

Use the trial to experiment all Archicad features for free. To request a free trial, go to the Graphisoft website. We automatically detect your location, but you can manually select a different country using the list at the top right (globe icon).

Any professional can request a free evaluation with a Graphisoft ID. With the free trial you can try Archicad Collaborate for 30 days. You don't need a credit card to use the trial.

Free trials cannot be renewed. After 30 days, it will automatically be converted into a monthly subscription for a full Archicad commercial license if credit card information was provided during activation. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

I need some help regarding the conversion of a trial file. Basically I have started a project in Trial mode to see if it would work, but then bought a Solo licence after I decided it was the right software (I was trialling lots of other software at the same time but Archicad was the clear winner, 2D cad felt painful. I do not want to lose any work if it is possible.

Across the forums it explains the the trial file should just convert to a commercial file upon purchase of a licence and opening the file provided it is on the same computer. This trial file is on the same computer. The warning message however states the Trial file was not opened on the same computer. I can 100% confirm it was as I invested in a new Mac (to me) precisely for this software from start to now. What is going on here and is there anyway to recover this work? I have an idea but not sure if it will work.

Hi JDT,

Thanks for the query and sorry for the issue that you are experiencing.

I believe the article which mentions "the trial file should just convert to a commercial file upon purchase of a license" is misleading. The term commercial should be replaced by the term FULL, meaning that Trial files can be converted to FULL files by using only a FULL Archicad license on the same machine they were created, and this means that Solo Archicad license is not capable of doing that. We will fix that article soon.

So, what I can suggest now is the following:

Please contact our office/partner in the country you are located, and they will help you with converting the files from Trial to Solo. And should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sorry for any inconevnices that this issue has caused for you.

Kind regards,

Arash

Dear, Eduardo. I used a trial version to create a project and it has expired. I've tried to download another version using a new profile and a new Archicad installation on the exactly same machine. Still doesn't work. Have I lost the files for good?? No other way to access it? Even if I bought the licence? Thanks

The trial version is a fully-functional version of LAND4 including all available LAND4 features.

You will receive your LAND4 trial license file within 24 hours after ordering (weekends and holidays excluded).

I created a trial file on my computer but I cannot open the file. Indicates that it can only be changed on the source machine. As I didn't change the machine, and the AC25 version is the same (4013) I didn't understand exactly what I did to make this happen.

As I didn't change the machine, and the AC25 version is the same (4013) I didn't understand exactly what I did to make this happen, so I assumed that I had updated something in the program, or deleted something that had changed the configuration.

Trial versions can only open files that were created on that specific version so if the trial expires then that file cannot be open again unless you covert that trial version to a full one by buying it.

Hi,

A friend of mine activated the trial version even though she is a student. Now the trial version time ended and she doesn't know how to activate the Edu license properly.

The window is like: "Your trial license expired!" - Find your local revendor / exit / enter demo mode

How to proceed?

She should get in contact with the reseller to see if buying a monthly license can let her change the file from Trial to full, then when the month expires she can install the EDU version and continue working there.

I have registered and downloaded the program, but I have not received a trial license serial number. My registration was successful and I have checked my spam folder, but I haven't received an email with a serial number.

Meu numero de serie expirou antes que eu usasse ento pedi licena para estudante e ja mandei comprovante de matricula vrios e-mails e ate agora nenhum retorno acho q vou usar mesmo o programa de antes pq estou precisando na faculdade.

My serial number expired before I used it so I asked for a student license and I've already sent proof of enrollment several emails and so far no return I think I'll even use the program from before because I need it in college.

I'm new here so I apologise if this topic has been discussed before, but I'd be interested to know what peoples opinions are on these two new generation cad softwares? I'm undecided as to which one to focus upon in relation to my architecture work as a postgraduate student. I've also begun to look at 3d studio max which I'd like to take further and use as a final end end to my cad work so would like them to be compatible.

Just wondering if there's any architects or designers who use these tools together and what they'd reccommend. Just thought I start up a bit of discussion on the topic. Ideally I want to use the cad software for plans elevations, section and then take the 3d model into max for the final work.

ArchiCAD or Revit, no matter how much I tell you, the best solution is to just try it out yourself Both of them have downloadable free trial, so, go download and try out yourself. See for yourself which one is easier to use.
