I am preparing my camping gear for staying at a baresite at CBC. And I am in need of some advice since this is my first time camping here. What type of tent stakes are recommended? What type of tarps should I bring? Thanks for any advice you can provide me.

toes in the sand

We were at site #40 in January this year. The ground was somewhat hard packed sand/dirt and a little gravel. It was easy to push a small narrow stake into the ground with a convenient rock. I had been concerned that I was going to have to find stakes to use in soft sand. From what i saw, there were only a few sites that would have had that problem. Those near the beach would be the only ones with that situation.
For a tarp we used a 9x9 nylon over the table and a smaller nylon one ready to deploy over the tent in case of rain. (which we never had). Our first night there was a forecast of a 40% chance of rain so I put the rainfly over the tent before going to bed that night. After working to set up camp It was uncomfortable without the gentle breeze blowing through the tent. If we had experienced  a light rain, I would have preferred to have a tarp above the tent rather than the rainfly. For the groundcloth I saved weight by bringing a blue poly tarp instead of my heavier groundcloth. The site was smooth enough that the blue poly worked just fine.
