Does anyone know whether it's really preferrable to stay in a cottage
or a tent at cinnamon bay? Are the conditions relatively the same?
What types of 'critters' might we expect to find in this area?

Hi Shelly
Hope this doesn't come too late. I have stayed in both tents & cabins
and I do prefer the cabins. They both have cots (or single beds) and
kitchen utensils etc. That is about the same. However the cottages
have electricity - the tents don't. So if you stay in a tent you need
to bring your own lights battery powered radio and so on. They
provide a propane light you can use, but you might want something less
flammable. The beachfront & beachview cabins also have a little
fridge which is invaluable in the topic weather. The quest for ice
to keep your stuff cold can be a pain. That said, the tent area is
less used and therefore you have more privacy especially in the
bathrooms. And of course the tents are cheaper.
As far as "critters" are concerned: This is the tropics - expect
bugs. Nothing that is going to kill you though. Other than insects
"critters" that live in Cinnamon Bay are geckos (totally harmless &
they eat the bugs) iguanas (vegetarians) birds, mongoose (again
harmless & cute) lots of cats and donkeys. These you have to watch
out for. They will steal your food if it's not put away. the
"critters" you won't see but will hear are tree frogs. I happen to
love the music they make but some might find it too noisy.
Hope this helps.
