I've tried to add the weather applet and get [Errno 2] No such file or directory.  Is it supposed to be compatible with Cinnamon 2.0?

Indeed it is.

If you're upgrading an existing installation, be sure to click "Refresh
list" on the "Get more online" tab.

If that doesn't fix it, try uninstalling and reinstalling.

If something goes wrong there, it will be helpful to know your OS,
old/new cinnamon versions, and old/new weather applet versions.

I'm running Mint 13 Maya with backports enabled.  The installation is only a couple of months old (I chose Maya because it's LTS).  I didn't have cinnamon-weather installed while on Cinnamon 1.8.  So this a new install on Cinnamon 2.0 and not an upgrade attempt.  I had to do the Get More Online tab and Refresh List button in order to have weather available to select initially.  I did it again with the same [Errno 2] error result.  Synaptic shows installed and latest version as cinnamon 2.0.14+maya.

The problem is with the installer, I think. The spices server is
working OK for me.

Can you provide the error text? I'll pass it along to the team.

As a workaround, try to download the zip and unpack it here:

The dynamics of the situation are: I go to Applets, select Get more online tab, click Refresh list, select Weather, then click Install or update.  A window I can't read flashes momentarily on the screen and is then replaced by the window below.

I was able to download and install it using your instructions and it works just fine.  Thank you.

In my last reply I pasted the error window into the note. It looked like it was going to work but when I pressed send it looks like it was omitted.

This time I also attached the file to this note.

If neither work, the exact text is:

An error occurred during installation or updating.  You man wish to report this incident to the developer of weather@mockturtl.
If this was an update, the previous installation is unchanged
Details: [Errno 2] No such file or directory

Got it, thanks. The Google Groups spam trap can be finicky.
