RSM and B2R invite your child to a Mathmusical Friday Fun Night! The evening will be filled with the harmonious blend of math and music, a thrilling scavenger hunt, fun games, and prizes. While kids enjoy the exciting activities, parents will have the chance to tour both schools and get answers to their questions. This family event promises an enjoyable and enriching experience for all.

DC Metro Chess K-12 Tournament on Sat 09/09

We host USCF rated tournaments for all levels of players from beginners to advanced players. To celebrate the beginning of the 2023 Fall semester, we are hosting an in-person scholastic chess tournament for K-12 students in the DC metropolitan area. 

Fall Enrollment is Open! With multiple levels for every grade as well as selective competition programs, we are able to best serve each child’s development based on his or her knowledge and ability. RSM students post remarkable scores on math competitions, in school, and see a greater confidence in their math and learning abilities overall. Register today and choose a convenient day and time for your child’s classes. Below is the detailed information about this upcoming tournament.

When:
Sept. 9th (09/09/2023) Saturday
1:30 pm – 6:00 pm EST

Where:
Herndon Middle School
Locust St, Herndon, VA 20170

Free parking onsite

Format:
Open to all students enrolled in elementary, middle, or high school in Fall 2023
Four rounds in swiss format (G/30, d5)
Each side has 30 minutes with a 5 second delay to complete his or her moves per game.

First rounds starts 2:00 pm

Sections & Time control:
There will be 4 grade based sections at this tournament event. Players can play up but can not play down their grades.
K-3 G/30,d5
K-5 G/30,d5
K-8 G/30,d5
K-12 G/30, d5

PRIZES:
Trophy awards for top three players in each section.
All players who finished all rounds will get a medal.
