Sinners represents Ryan Coogler's interpretation of the classic tale involving a blues musician and the devil. The director of Black Panther ventures into the realm of horror this time, yet his focus extends beyond mere cheap thrills and graphic violence. In fact, the horror aspect does not fully manifest until the final thirty minutes, but the preceding narrative is so engaging that it hardly matters. When the horror elements do emerge, Coogler employs the ensuing chaos to enhance the themes he has meticulously crafted over the previous ninety minutes. Set in 1932, the film features Michael B. Jordan portraying twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to the Mississippi Delta after spending years in Chicago's criminal underworld. With the money they have earned, the brothers intend to establish their own juke joint. They recruit a young guitarist named Sammie to join their band, despite his pastor father's objections, as the devout man perceives the blues as music of the devil. Enjoy this film on Flixtor Movies.
