Singapore Imagined is a panel discussion that explores how Singapore is viewed and interpreted internationally via the lens of the Asian American media imaginary.
Although fundamentally unique, the diasporic Asian communities in Singapore and the United States share a legacy of exoticisation and forced assimilation led by colonial and imperial forces, reflected in their representation in cinema.
