Screening and Discussion: The Beatles and India Documentary
Join us for an exclusive screening of the acclaimed documentary The Beatles and India, directed by Indian author and political journalist Ajoy Bose. This 2021 film offers a unique historical chronicle of the enduring love affair between The Beatles and India that began more than half a century ago. Through rare archival footage, photographs, eye-witness accounts, and expert commentary, the documentary brings to life the fascinating journey of George, John, Paul, and Ringo from their high-octane celebrity lives in the West to a remote Himalayan ashram in search of spiritual bliss—a quest that inspired an unprecedented burst of creative songwriting.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Ajoy Bose and distinguished experts who will delve deeper into the cultural and musical impact of The Beatles' immersion in Indian culture and philosophy during the 1960s, as well as the band's influence on India. The discussion will be followed by a networking session.
