GCTA is delighted to invite you and your family to the event 'GREATER CINCINNATI BATHUKAMMA & DUSSEHRA  CELEBRATIONS'

GCTA feels proud to continue the celebration of Telangana official state festival with your encouragement and support in 2015. We would like to celebrate the event with unity on a grand scale to fill in the true festive spirit among all families. 
GCTA appreciates every participant and will award mementos to top five bathukammas based on standard selection criteria.

About Bathukamma:

Bathukamma is an embodiment of the spirit of Telangana. The festival has become an important part of the cultural renaissance movement of Telangana and has now been accorded the State Festival status in the newly formed state. Bathukamma is literally a celebration of life. It is a unique tribute to nature, which starts with colorful flowers and culminates in a water body. Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers most of them with medicinal values, in seven concentric layers in the shape of temple gopuram.  ‘Bathukamma' means ‘Mother Goddess come Alive’ and Goddess Maha Gauri - ‘Life Giver’ is worshiped in the form of Bathukamma – the patron goddess of womanhood, Maha Gauri Devi.

It is traditional & family fun festival celebrated outside in larger groups. This event is admission free, open to one and all.  Dinner & Snacks will be served.

Dear Friends,

Bathukamma symbolizes the intrinsic values of our Telangana culture, its amalgamated in to our rich traditions and hallmarks the importance of womanhood by connecting it to the nature. GCTA as a Telangana association, we are putting our energy, efforts to bring all of our families together.

Based on elders request to follow auspicious times to celebrate, to maintain harmony and unity among our families, GCTA committees decided to join hands with Tarangini to celebrate our Bathukamma on a grand scale for this year. 

We will co-ordinate with their committee in the field for logistics and volunteers related efforts.
