I almost chose not to send this out because I didn't want the competition - but there is a local hackathon for the Mercantile Library with a ton of cash prizes.

I don't even know what the mercantile library is. So I'm out. :P

They were selling tickets to this? Crazy. Tell us how it went and good luck!

Hackathon was actually a lot of fun.  I need to put together a blog post on it.

But the long and the short of it was we had carte blanche to do whatever the hell we wanted... and it turned out pretty sweet.  They got a TON of stuff from the 14ish people that participated.

Chris R and myself teamed up and our idea revolved around having the Mercantile Library be a curator of open data to be used by researchers, startups, students, etc.  It was a pretty dope idea and I think one of the judges actually started crying.

The other teams came up with 2 complete, finished web designs, a complete digital strategy, 3 mobile apps, blah blah.  It was crazy.

Also we got currito it tasted good.
