Possible Scams

Hello Everyone,

It seems like our Cincinnati Sacred Harp mailing list has been hacked.  If you get an email from one of us, be cautious.  I got one that said :

 "How are you?

Sorry to bother you with this, I could have called you instead but I'm unable to speak over the phone due to a serious throat pain caused by laryngitis.

I wanted to ask if you shop with Amazon?"

If you get anything like this do not reply.

Thanks for the heads up and warning, Rich.  I have received many of those Amazon shopping emails from a number of people, and I send it to spam.  This virus appears to be widespread; I hope nobody has received any such email from me because I have almost nothing to do with Amazon anyway.

Yes, I got one of those about 2 weeks ago, from someone who used to be in the Cinti group -- I'll just say 1st name Linda -- it was made to look like it was sent only to me, and, the whole content sounded "scammy", as well as knowing I'd be one of the last people she would have contacted about any personal matters!  I reported it to gmail as fraud.
