Hi guys... This is Mike Cody. I'm pretty sure I know most of the
people who are members of CinComedy but in case we haven't met yet,
I'm a working comic who first took the stage roughly five years ago.
My interests include pro wrestling, Little Caesars Pizza and Googling
images of the brunette from "High School Musical 3."
My roommate, Tom Bolton, is an experienced freelance graphic designer
who happens to be a stand-up comedy superfan. (Tom designed the ad
campaign I've been using to promote my "Underbelly" show at The
Southgate House, as well as the logo for Dave Waite's podcast.) At
the moment, he's in between projects and is looking for a fun way to
supplement his income.
Tom was wondering if I knew any comedians who need graphic design work
(business card, logo, graphics for a website, etc.) done at a VERY
affordable price. If you've been wanting to update your business card
or create a press kit, I would highly recommend that you take
advantage of this offer. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's very
unlikely you'll be able to find anyone else this talented for such a
low price... Tom's practically giving his work away.
Also, I'm interested in finding out if any of the comics on this site
were interested in having a professional bio written for them. I've
written bios for a few up-and-coming performers, including a gentleman
from New York City who was recently featured on Comedy Central.
In the past, I've met a few comedians who bristled at the thought of
someone else writing their bio when they "could do it themselves for
free." However, I've read enough poorly written and unimaginative
bios while checking out comedy club websites to know that there's
something to be said for letting an outsider with a creative writing
background handle the job. Whether you have a long list of credits or
none to speak of, I will work with you to tell you story in the best,
most concise way possible. For $25 I will write you an original bio
and send it to you in whatever format you choose, including as a .PDF
file for your Electronic Press Kit.
If you're interested in having Tom do some graphics or would like me
to write your bio, please e-mail me at
michael...@yahoo.com or
give me a call at
(513) 374-8630. Both Tom and I have a very fast
turnaround time for our projects.
Also, if you're promoting an upcoming comedy event and would like a
design for a flyer or poster, Tom can do that as well.
Take care,
Mike
