Hi folks... retired comic Joe Wessels here.

Just got back from my five-year tour of Denny's restaurants and small-
town bowling alleys and I am happy to report I am as well-known as I
was before. And a whole lot fatter.

So, I thought I would set up this storytelling thing. It's not stand-
up, but I think it would appeal to us comic-types. In fact, we
specifically say "no stand up comedy." But that doesn't mean a story
can't be funny. And because some of us can go on and on anyway, this
might the best way to try out those, ahem, "longer jokes."

Here's how it goes: Teilen/Rhine, as it is being called, starts at 6
p.m. this Sunday, May 1, 2011 at MOTR Pub, 1345 Main Street in Over-
the-Rhine. No need to tell anyone in advance if you're going to be
there. Just show up, sign up and be prepared to tell a five to 10-
minute story. The first night's theme is "Beginnings." Nice and broad
and easily adaptable from whatever thing you were thinking about
anyway. See, it's easy.

All the performances are being recorded. The best ones will be
released as a Podcast. We are working on an agreement to have some
played on a local radio station (they asked us, which shocked the you-
know-what out of me)...

There's a Web site: http://teilenrhine.com/

Can't make it this Sunday? Not a problem. It's a monthly event. In
fact, the best night's story is invited back for a grand storytelling
championship in March 2012. We're on Facebook, too.

I hope you're interested. Email me at j...@joewessels.net or call (513)
549-6397 if you have any questions. Otherwise, see you Sunday!

-Joe
