Hey Jake,

I don't know too much of local training programs, but conference-wise, I think I can give you some good recommendations. It's too late for http://jsconf.us/ But if you're up for a trip or two in California, http://html5devconf.com/ is coming up in April and there's still tickets available - go for the conference + training ticket if any of the training tracks look interesting. There's also nodeconf in June: http://nodeconf.com/ . The current batch of tickets are sold out but you can register to get emailed when there's more available. (I'll be at nodeconf for sure and possibly HTML5DevConf. I think someone from Cinci is actually speaking at HTML5DevConf :)

And if you really want to travel, http://spainjs.org/ is happening in July, http://2013.jsday.it/ is in May, and they'll probably be two or three more in Europe and South America before the end of the year. There's also 6 (!) tickets left for ThaiJS this February 21st–27th: http://thaijs.com/

    Hi All,

Hope this dont come off like spam, I'm just excited!! I wrote this on the
meetup page but thought I might send it this way too...
Hello Cincy JS'ers! Quick question, I thought you would be the best to
ask.. I have the "green light" (employer will will pay for education) to
learn/take classes/course for JavaScript and some other areas of web
development. I want to MAKE SURE I get the most out of this as I possibly
can(I'm a code junkie, lol). Any suggestions on programs or courses is
    extremely appreciated!

    Thanks again - Jake

Right after I sent this, I got an update about nodeconf tickets (which means that if you signed up now, you probably wouldn't get this info):

More tickets available 2/6

We want to hear what you'd like to see at NodeConf!

NodeConf this year will have an all new format, more like a condensed workshop than a traditional conference talk. This means we can't do the traditional CFP (Call for Proposals) but we do want to hear from you about what you'd like to see at NodeConf. If you'd like to help, take a few moments and answer a few questions.

More tickets will be available on February 6th at 8pm PST (10pm UTC).

Ticket prices are $800 for BunkUp tickets and $690 for CampOut tickets. Tickets include all meals and accomodations (CampOut tickets bring your own tent) for 3 days as well as transport from San Francisco to the ranch and parties every night.

Thanks for your reply Nathan!

I am definitely looking into html5dev but when it comes to JS, I need to wrap my head around it a little better before I go to any of those. Is there any body in the group that would do some training that you can think of? I have looked at some classes in Cincy but seem to be bloated with things I'm not interested in but at least I could get a degree out of them. Personally I'm not too concerned with a degree, I just want to learn as much as I can while the offer stands. Books and Internet can only do so much.

Again thanks for the reply!
