I've mentioned an upcoming Arduino class at the last couple of meetings. Signup links and details have been posted at:

For convenience, the description is reproduced below.
----------
On Wednesday, April 19 from 6-9PM, Hive 13 secretary and resident curmudgeon Ryan Hershey will provide a gentle introduction to the Arduino. This will be extremely shallow coverage of the first steps required. Those already capable of installing the Arduno software and of basic C programming will find little of interest.
If however, you've wanted to use microcontrollers in your projects but been stymied by one or more of the topics listed below, this overview should prove useful.
Topics covered:
*General orientation - Discussion of available products and links to learning resources
*Setting up your computer - Installing the Arduino development environment
*Talking to the Arduino - Basic C programming concepts including variables, operators, flow control, loops, and calling functions
*Using components - Installing libraries for control of sensors, motors, lighting effects, etc.
*Putting it all together - Your first project. Motion controlled lighting.
Equipment Provided:
*Arduino Uno clone.
*Small breadboard and jumper wire
*Multicolor LED strip
*PIR motion sensor
Some equipment will be avaiable for use, but you may wish to bring:
*Your own computer.
*USB A to B cable. (Commonly known as a USB printer cable)
