Hello All-

I am in need of you help.  I have a patient who is really missing Nature Valley Oats and Honey granola bars (the crunchy bars that come 2 to a pack).  Do any of you know a good comparable product that is gluten free?

Thanks so much,

Abi

I don’t know if this person that has, I assume Celiac disease, is aware that even certified GF oats can cause some patients disease to go out of remission. From what I understand, this may be a small percentage of those with Celiac, but it happened to me. I was diagnosed with the disease 25 years ago. We purchased the oats on-line and I spoke with two of the people who owned the processing facility. Oats will simply have a negative impact on some patients and this comes from my GI doctor.

Good luck,
Dennis

I would just recommend the ENVIROKIDZ brand koala cereal and they make bars now.  most celiacs can tolerate rice.  No oats

For now at least, she is fine to have oats, so long as they are gluten free.  She really liked the crunchiness of the oats and honey.  The rice ones are not as crunchy, but I saw the Envirokidz has an oats one that is gluten free.  I wonder if that one is crunchy.  Thanks for the ideas.  I will have to check out the Aldis one and the Envirokidz.

I was diagnosed with celiacs 29 years ago so I have never eaten Nature valley. However, I believe
Kind makes a comparable product. I discovered them myself as a gf snack option on a delta flight. Only 1 per pack & not quite as crunchy, but good taste. Worth a try.

Nature valley has a gluten free salted caramel granola bar that is delicious. It's worth a try! I don't like chewy granola, and I definitely like this one!
