I'm a Cincinnati native and really craving Gliers Goetta. Need to know if it is gluten free.
Been very sick and can't take a risk.
Today is Sunday, our family is frying it up and I want some. Please does anyone know?
Ingredients list does not say Gluten free.

Probably because oats used are not certified as gluten free

I eat Red Mill oats.
They are processed in a certified GF factory.
It makes me sad I really crave them. Not worth the pain & suffering. Gliers uses pin oats. 😒

I am from cinti. I'm not sure they use gf oats, but you can purchase your own steel cut gf oats and make your own goetta. Much healthier, and better tasting.

No can't make them myself. I tried that once. It was so much work. I was so exhausted, plus just didn't taste that good.
I'm going to contact Gliers myself.

Sure I can share my recipe.  It's pretty easy.  5 hours in the crock pot.   In going to bed but will dig it out and send it.

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb organic ground beef
1 lb organic ground pork
6 cups of water
1 Medium size onion chopped
1 bay leaf
2 1/2 cups steel cut oats (I use Bob Mills GF)
2 Tsp of sea salt
1/8 Tsp of black pepper
1 container of fresh poultry seasoning ground up.(I get from Kroger in fresh produce aisle)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Blend the ground meat and onions.  Set aside
2. In a crock pot, combine water, salt and pepper.  Cook on high (covered)for 20 minutes then stir in oatmeal.  Cover and cook on high for 90 more minutes
3. Add meat and seasoning at the end of the 90 minutes - blend well.  Cover and cook on low for 3 more hours.
4.  At the end of the 3 hours, if the goetta is not thick enough, cook it a little longer, stirring often.
5. Pour into bread pans, cover with cling wrap and place in refrigerator.  It will keep for days.
6. When you're ready to eat it, slice the loaf of goetta and put it into a skillet with oil (I use organic coconut oil).  Fry over medium heat.

Don't be afraid to add more water if needed, but it should be somewhat thick.
