Subject: AFS exchange student with Celiac disease: looking for a host family

Hi,

I work with AFS International exchange, and am in the process of placing our students for the upcoming school year. We have one student,  Mirela from Spain, who has Celiac disease.  We would love to place her with a family that has a working knowledge of this disease and the dietary needs.  Mireia is a terrific student with top notch grades and English proficiency.  She loves music,  sports, and is good with young children.  I am hoping that you would be willing to distribute her information to your membership in the hope of finding a family who would be open to hosting and having this great experience.  She will arrive in mid-August and stay through June, and can attend any area high school that accepts exchange students.

Thanks in advance for any ideas that you might have for Mireia.

Barb

While I cannot offer housing, I willing to help the family who does provide housing understand celiac and how to prepare safe foods.
