Verizon plans to install a 30 foot tall fake cactus on common area in
MMR. Verizon is also negotiating with the Cimarron Hills board to do
likewise on our common area behind the gate.

A cactus this tall would have started growing about 1850 and be
visible from many homes.

You may care if it is behind your home and lowers your property value.

There is a Master MMR Board meeting Tuesday night at 7PM if you care
to hear more.

Please educate us on the radiation/emissions from these antennae.

Isn't there one of these already about half way up Queenswreath?  Why didn't any one object to it if there is a problem here?

The first step is to attend the MMR Master Board meeting Tuesday night @7.
LOCATION: McDowell Center 16116 N McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd

A request has to be made to the Verizon lobbyist...Coal Creek to make
available transmitter technical specifications. The City has not received
the documents.

Our CH Community Manager denied discussions between Verizon and our HOA
board, Doyle Hansen's denial is odd because it has been in the board
meeting minutes for the past few months.

Residents in Cimarron Hills did object last year.   Our  HOA Board and BIll Fuchs in particular told the commercial wireless carrier, "just install the transmitters because someone will always complain".  This statement is recorded in the City records but never disclosed to residents.

This new Verizon RF Transmitter is much taller than the existing faux cactus.  At 30 feet, this new faux cactus would be the tallest structure in Cimarron Hills and visible from many homes.   These RF transmitter sites are not regulated or monitored by the City, Arizona, or the Federal Government.  Therefore it is purely a community decision.

I expect the ERP (Effective Radiated Power) to be significantly greater than the +2000 watts being constantly transmitted by the 2 existing transmitter sites (within 60 feet of several homes).

The FCC performed a study last year at my request and ordered RF radiation warning signs be installed.   These mandatory sign seem to disappear every few months.  One can speculate someone is stupid or does not want residents to know there is a real danger involved when transmitting + 2000 watts of RF radiation at microwave frequency.

Thank you for the explanation.  I will definitely be at the meeting.  Funny how so much information conveniently "goes missing!"

The installation of the original NewPath networks faux saguaros was done pretty much on the QT until work started.  You will remember that under the then Board’s presumption it was a homeowner’s responsibility to attend meetings if they wanted to know what is going on.

Working from memory (so I am open to correction) the original saguaros were to serve AT&T.  You may find this interesting about NewPath which is owned by an NYSE company called Crown Castle   http://derekpilling.com/2009/05/07/the-next-generation-of-towers/.

The key take home should be this. The NewPath saguaros, already installed, can accommodate several different carriers, SO, Verizon could rent from New Path.  Apparently, they just don’t want to.

The question should be then, just how many more faux should we prepared to accept and for how many companies?

Personally, if there is capability in a system that we allowed to be built in our neighborhood, I would like to see it fully utilized before we allow additional construction.

That sounds extremely logical to me.

The Master Board approved the Verizon 30 foot cactus last night.
Verizon's lobbyist dodged questions why they would not use the NewPath
transmitters and the majority of the board officers didn't care.
Verizon lobbyist said he is negotiating with the Cimarron Hills board
to install a similar cactus in our community.

The Master Board ruled in favor of the fake cactus primarily because
the design review committy approved it. This fake cactus will be
taller than any structure in the Master Community (10% of Scottsdale
population). A former Board President with a home in the shadow of
this RF tower, argued effectively against the construction. His
opinion was ignored by the current board. The decision will now go to
the Scottsdale City Council.

This decision proves what Jim Lane, the Mayor with grand dreams of
higher public office, Jim Lane gets...probably along with political
contributions.

An interesting note, our master board of MMR has been asked to hold
Lane's kickoff campaign speech at our community center. That kind of
tells you where they stand.

That is troubling generally since universality was one of the primary
reasons for approving the New Path networks cacti in the first place.
